I first pegged this question as one I knew how to answer several months ago, but I usually passed it up for other Asks I thought would be more, uh… action-packed. However, I needed a simple one for today as I’m transitioning between computers, and I figured there was still some value to how Izzy answers here. Also, I haven’t drawn Izzy in a long time, but I think this drawing of him turned out really cute.
There’s been a handful of Asks for Roshi since he debuted in Caway’s NHML, mostly pairing him with different attractive younger ladies. I’m down for that, personally, as long as there’s an angle I can attack the pairing from. In this case, I kinda liked Ochaco getting special training from Roshi, who is of course sticking to his buff form in his shoots. Also, while I think Roshi’s tastes probably would go more towards Momo, Mina or Camie in the MHA sphere, something about him getting Ochaco’s girl-next-door self appealed to me here.
I’ve talked on my Discord some about how I’m hoping to get a handful of Applebridge projects either started or out during this month, and I figured it’d be appropriate to open with an Applebridge Ask for the month. Carly and Wren are both in the same grade, so it’s reasonable to think they’d know each other in the Applebridge canon, but I picture them gravitating to different friend groups. However, I see no reason why they couldn’t be friends in the Studio, and I figured drawing a line between those worlds might be an interesting bent on her answer.
It’s been a couple years since the first and only other time I’ve drawn Takumi, and I thought we could revisit him with this Ask. A fair number of Asks I see for less-used characters talk about them like they’re completely gone from the Studio or something when I haven’t drawn them for a while, and I thought this Ask might help clear up that confusion a little bit. Since the Studio is more than a Studio, but a full little community, everyone who’s in it is still around, hangin’ and bangin’, even if it’s been years since the last time they’ve shown up in my work.
There’s a scene in the first episode of Tomo-chan is a Girl! where Jun is talking with another guy about Tomo. The guy thinks Jun is talking about sex, while he thinks he’s talking about martial arts, and Jun comments that Tomo has good feet and uses them well. The other guy thought that was awesome, and so did I, and I’ve been hoping to show Tomo using her feet well since then.
I don’t usually choose questions where the answer is “no”, but sometimes there’s still room for a fun visual to along with a negative response. In this case, while Chris may be fine working with other humans for shoots when needed, I don’t really picture him having sex with anyone but Mobians recreationally. I figured we could clear that up, for anyone who was in doubt, and I always enjoy a little Chris/Sonic action when appropriate.
When I first read this question, I immediately pictured Darkness failing at being a Domme and getting berated for it, which would turn her on. I considered illustrating that scene for the answer, but I wasn’t really sure of the best way to convey it. The more I thought about it, though, the more in-character it felt to just have Darkness getting worked up over the idea of it, instead of actually trying to dominate another character herself.
It seems as if Makima’s taken over Denji’s explorations into sexuality since arriving in the Studio.
I actually had a plan to do a pic highlighting Ren’s back tattoo several years ago, but I never got that one beyond the sketching stage. This is different than what that would’ve been, but I thought it’d still be neat and hopefully some folks will enjoy it.
While I try not to overdo it, I always enjoy pairing strange or non-human characters with humans, and this Jazmine Ask sounded fun to me for that reason. I have no idea if anyone else will enjoy it as much as I do, but we haven’t seen Jazmine in a while and I just got the itch to draw this when I read the question. Jazmine, like many little girls, is obsessed with ponies in The Boondocks. While the episode most highlighting this is about a “real” pony, she does have the vibe of a girl who’d also enjoy something like My Little Pony. I went with Fluttershy for her partner here purely because I think she’s the member of the Mane 6 Jazmine would like the best.
