Here’s a commission I recently wrapped up featuring Bowser and Bowser, Jr. While I get the attraction for these characters (their designs, particularly Junior’s, are quite cute), this is a bit outside my wheelhouse and comfort zone. I don’t feel like characters along these lines really play to my strengths as an artist, nor do I really feel like I do the designs the justice other artists with different skillsets might. Nonetheless, I’m happy to draw them for a paycheck, as I did here, and hopefully the final result isn’t to terrible for those who are into the koopas.
So this Ask presented a unique problem for me, and that was that I had too many answers I liked. Really, I think you could pair Peach up with anyone on the Smash roster and get something good. She’s just that versatile. However, I decided to narrow my options down to the female roster, which is where her line about catching up with “the girls”. All the characters listed here are runner-ups for this answer, basically, since it would’ve been impossible and impractical to just throw in everyone I like in the game. In the end I went with Bayonetta as the one pictured, just because she’s one of the few options who I’ve drawn before (and after talking with the asker of this question, she also seemed to be the one that this Patron was most interested in). I always want to do Smash content, but I end up stagnating on it just due to having too many enticing options (basically the same issue I described before). I will never have enough time to do all the ideas I have for Smash Bros., and as a consequence I end up doing none of them.
Also, I’m happy to announce that chapter three of my ongoing story Stained Capes has been added to the literature section. You can read it here: http://nearhentai.com/literature/stained-capes-chapter-three-the-butler-did-it/
Some of you may remember a while ago I released a few images from a canceled project called “Bad Girls Month”. The idea was that I would do thirty or so pics of villainous women, and then post one every day of a certain month (after they’d all been made, of course). I gave up on this because I can’t make myself work on something that I won’t be able to release soon (it’s a mental block I can’t get around), but the stuff I did already I would still like to finish.
This was going to be Wendy O. Koopa’s entry in the series. I’m inexplicably attracted to Wendy (she’s who I play in Mario Kart, and one of my faves in Smash Bros.). Maybe it’s those big dick-sucking lips, or her resting bitch face, but I just enjoy her a lot. For this pic I decided to make her proportions a bit more human, but maybe some day I’ll try drawing her on-model too. Either way I’d definitely like to draw her again if I get the chance.
This is the first of the commissions I sold in the “Fire Sale” to help raise funds for my friend Anya. I still have commissions from the list of Twenty that are unfinished, all of which had to be put off due to one reason or another on the client’s side. I will happily fill each of those if and when those issues are resolved (and, in fact, am working on one right now).
For this pic, the client sent me a screencap of one of Ultimate Surrender’s gay videos and asked me to recreate it with Bowser and Yoshi. This is the end result. I was excited to try this one out, as I’ve been thinking about doing a Yoshi pic for a long time, and I always like the idea of Bowser on top. Hopefully y’all can enjoy this pic, too, though I imagine it’s not for everybody.
So with the twenty commission slots I’ve been selling, I’ve accepted a number of commissions that break the mold of what I typically do. This is another such pic, as Donkey Kong and Bowser are both characters I would typically use as a top, and probably not focused on much at all even then. However, even though this isn’t my thing, I thought the concept was pretty interesting and I wanted to try something different. Hopefully some of you out there will enjoy this as much as the client who commissioned it. 🙂
I had been toying with the idea of doing Peach in a position like this for a while, so I ran with the idea. Bowser was a late addition, as she was originally just hanging there. I thought the picture needed something more than that, so I threw him in there, and I think his inclusion helps make Peach look less bored, and more fucked to the brink of exhaustion. All in all I’m pretty happy with the first NHML, and I’m psyched to do more.
The WWOEC Woman of the Month for October, 2013 is Princess Peach of the Mario franchise. I’ve always really liked Peach, and I’m not sure exactly why. I mean yeah, she’s cute, but she doesn’t seem to have much more going for her on the surface. Maybe it’s just how she manages to be so super-feminine while still sounding like a guy trying to impersonate a girl. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I’d like to do more with Peach in the future.
