Saika Totsuka Character Ask 1

Saika’s response here is kinda my own reaction to his debut pic. While he is cute, I didn’t expect him to be as warmly received immediately as he was, but it seems like he may have some staying power. For his partner, I wanted to go with someone I haven’t drawn as much, and while looking through the guys who fit that description, Roy stood out to me. I was hoping to find someone who could play into the “warm” part of warm reception (and there were a few candidates), and in Smash I always see Roy associated with fire and flames. I also like that, when their faces are close together like this, if you squint they almost look like Todoroki.

July ’22 One-Shot

This One-Shot is all about Fire Emblem. I mostly know this franchise through Smash Bros., but luckily for me there was a heavy overlap between the characters used here and those who’ve appeared in Smash. Apparently the Subscriber who submitted this script had intended for the Robin who appeared to be the male version, but they forgot to specify in the script and I’d already finished the comic before I knew. We’ve seen male Robin before in an older OS, anyway, so it’s nice to get the female side here I think.

Flayn NHML

Flayn of Fire Emblem: Three Houses won the NHML raffle this month. I’ve never played this game, but browsing through her Wikia page didn’t really do much to enlighten me on what would be a fun concept for her. So, I went the default route and paired her with the game’s protagonist, Byleth. I’ve never played Fire Emblem, but I do play Smash, and when I play as Byleth I always choose the female version, so that’s what I went with here.

With this post, NHML nominations for the month of June are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, Fire Emblem. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. You may nominate by either commenting in the cBox, commenting on this post, or emailing me (Nearphotison2010@yahoo.com). I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on June 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month. I look forward to seeing who you all nominate this time around!

Azura Character Ask 1

I’ve been doing a good string of firsts for Asks in this set, haven’t I? So this one might be a little boring, I dunno, but if anyone wanted to see Azura again here she is. I think the majority of NHML winners have just been one-time actors, especially since many of them (including Azura) are characters I don’t really know how have ideas for. Even if they aren’t working much, at least they’re living comfortably around the Studio.
Also, I know Marth is from a different Fire Emblem game, but I think they’d be friends in the Studio. Also, they did seem pretty friendly in Fire Emblem Warriors.

Asholf

This is a commission of my Epic Tier, featuring Ashe and Rolf from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, respectively. The objective of this pic was to show off these two boys from different eras, so per the instructions of the they’re being ravaged by disembodied cocks and hands, haha. Not usually the approach I go for, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Marth Character Ask 2

These sorts of Asks can sometimes be a bit tricky. It’s easy enough to just pick a position (though sometimes I have trouble even answering that, since I don’t really know much about which positions feel good, just what looks good to a viewer), but I usually feel an obligation to include some dialogue that isn’t, well, boring. I wanted to answer this one though, because 1) I like Marth and haven’t drawn him much and 2) This person has asked this before and I felt bad not getting to it in previous months. I hit on the idea of Marth’s actual articulation of his answer being muffled ’cause he’s biting a sheet, and I think this works here since we can see the answer well enough without being able to understand him. I thought it was a fun way to handle the response, and I hope you all enjoy it. ^_^

Marth Character Ask 1

So, I feel like this Ask was probably fishing to see Marth paired up with a guy from another series (Asks along these lines usually are). I was having trouble settling on something that I liked, though, but I also felt like drawing Marth, so I made a compromise. Marth’s a character I’m really fond of, despite not having played any of his games, and I’d like to take a few more stabs at him again in the future.

Azura NHML

I went back and forth on a few ideas for what to do with our Near Hentai Monthly Lady this month. I’ve never played any Fire Emblem, so I didn’t really know her. At first I thought I’d do a solo pic, but when I saw she was the co-star of the game Corrin is from (who I know from Smash Bros.), I decided it’d be more fun to pair them up. I went with the lady version of Corrin, and used this pose I’ve had saved for quite a while. I ended up getting a little carried away and the pic turned out more complex than I’d originally intended, but I don’t think that’ll be a big problem. I wanted to use water ropes to bind Corrin at first, but then I couldn’t find any evidence that Azura’s abilities would actually allow that… so I played it safe and used boring old rope ropes. ^_^ I haven’t done much bondage type stuff (though I have dabbled here and there), so I relied pretty heavily on my reference material (some of the knots even ended up just being traced to try and keep them accurate). Hopefully you all can enjoy this pic I put a lot of time into even if you’re like me and barely know these characters.

With this post, NHML nominations for the month of April are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person, and if I catch anyone trying to do multiple nominations by changing their names I will remove all of that person’s nominations. I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on April 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month. I look forward to seeing who you all nominate this time around!

January ’19 One-Shot

Here’s the One-Shot comic selected from a collection of scripts submitted last month. Smash Bros. had just come out, and I was really into it (still am), so the timing was good ’cause I was in the mood for Smash porn. I’ve always wanted to use Smash Bros. as a platform for content, but I never seem to be able to settle down and do some. The script here did not specify poses or dialogue or anything, so I got to plan out the page myself. ^_^ I added in lines from the game that I thought would fit the scene, for those characters who have lines like that.

Also, here’s a new episode of Near Talk where I talk a bit about my thoughts on crossovers and what I find appealing about them:

Cia, Aversa, & Mariah

This is a commission I recently finished featuring Cia (from Hyrule Warriors), Aversa (from Fire Emblem) and Mariah (from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure). I assume the idea here is to pair up three dark-skinned girls with white hair, which I’m all for. It’s an aesthetic that never gets old and, truth be told, I hope to have a non-commissioned picture of Cia sometime soon.
