Here’s the Near Hentai Monthly Lady for July 2020, Rika Shinozaki from Sword Art Online. I’ve only seen a handful of episodes of this show, so I don’t know much about the characters beyond having seen them in some AMVs. I do know these characters all have multiple appearances, due to the series’ premise of taking place in VRMMORPGs. These designs are from the second big game they play (as far as I can tell), because looking into Rika it seemed like she had some connection with the other two (Suguha and Keiko). It’s possible the nomination was meant to be for Rika’s real life design, I can’t say, since this version is a character she plays named Lisbeth… I just think these designs are more interesting, since even though every character in this show looks like a knockoff of a character from a better anime, the human designs all look like supporting characters from generic dating sims and interest me even less. ^_^;
With this post, NHML nominations for the month of August are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, Sword Art Online. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. You may nominate by either commenting in the cBox, commenting on this post, or emailing me (Nearphotison2010@yahoo.com). I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on August 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month. I look forward to seeing who you all nominate this time around!

Oh please you dumb shit. There’s no such thing as a Həntaì series, that word means “pervert” not “porn” (or anything related to nude imagery and sex – especially in a fictious sense).
You dweebs try to add a misnomer to simple ‘cartoon porn’; you can’t change the meaning of a word that’s not native to English. Also, you just sound plain dumb to call something a (translation:) pervert series.
Educate yourself, it’s most wannabe-Asian/Jpnophiles that behave and act so ignorant touched with arrogance

I don’t know what to tell you. The word has a different use in the west, but it is the accepted nomenclature and has been for decades. Words can have multiple meanings and uses. Literally everyone uses it the way I do.
Not at all, the word has only been in usage in the west since the LAST decade. Prior to that Jp shows were not aired or released westwards due to Jp grudge on Americans/white people, etc. for the atrocities they caused a few decades back during WWII. Nope, it is not ‘accepted’ – just a few dumb people during the last decade tagging anything eastern porn related with it which has become a misnomer. Words can have multiple meanings IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE: this word is not native to English for starters, there is no other word like this of foreign origin which has been altered by western idiots some 10 years ago. Actually on the contrary, while yes there are many ignorant (lacking education in Jpnese grammar and vocabulary to say such a word equals such a meaning) – there are just as many who don’t know the word or what it means, or have heard of it but don’t know it’s meaning. Mainly people that use it in such light are people who are 1) not learned in the Jp language, 2) generally western non-Asians, 3) Booru site followers (Rule34 etc Booru sites are the largest host of Jp style porn ammassing 96% of cartoon porn alone, and that’s where they learn in the comment section. There or the dozens of porn sites with H word as a prefix which leads them to believe it means such a thing), 4) go off hearsay (meaning they don’t confirm the word but heard it means such and agree with it) which causes a web basically. Kinda like how slangs trend: yeet, lit, etc. or dance moves like the dab. I know this is long, I’m just trying to educate people. There are many more like us in threads trying to prevent corruption of a language and its words esp. by westerners. But many fans from the west adopting phrase learners from anything they hear (aka Wannabes). Best advice would be to ask an actual Jap and they would definitely say “no, it’s been corrupted”. Peace out

You’re just factually wrong. I can only assume you’re pretty young if you think the use of the word “hentai” to describe animated or cartoon porn is recent or not widely accepted, but it dates back to the eighties (Japanese shows have aired in America even as far back as the seventies, so you’re also wrong about that, though it didn’t become widespread until the 2000’s, which is still more than a decade ago).
Not only has it been commonly and widely used this way longer than you’ve been alive, I have to assume, but it’s meaning isn’t even corrupted. Calling a porn series a “pervert series” is not a strange or bizarre thing at all, and the fact is everyone and their grandmother knows the original Japanese meaning. This is another reason why I have to assume you’re young, you come across like someone who just recently learned some new information and thinks that makes you special, but you’re actually embarrassing yourself to a degree I hope you’ll be able to recognize when you’re older. You obviously aren’t very knowledgeable on the subject, you have a piece of commonly-known trivia and talk like it’s privileged, secret information while proudly displaying a lack of knowledge on how language works or evolves (and “hentai” is far, far from the only word that’s been adopted with different meanings or connotations in English, a huge chunk of the English language is words like this). As it is now, I can only hope you’re actually old enough to be on this site, and if you’re under eighteen I’ll have to ask you to please restrain yourself and not visit pornographic sites like this until you’re a little older.
Once again, no. The only shows that were aired were basic game shows like the original Ninja Warrior. Because they had very few cartoon series until the late 80s and onward. And actually I was alive and the term was not applied until the early 2000’s. Because the mid-late 90’s were the only time movies from there were released westwards but actual series other than those didn’t air until KidTV took partial dubbing license on them in, once again, the early 2000s. Anything other than that would have been really old as their were extremely few licensing studios in America. It does not date back to the seventies/eighties because the Japanese have only started animated pornography as a distribution programme in the nineties and not anything befote that, furthermore these were not released westwards for a fact and the first mature rate movie from there was basically in 1999/2000. Nowhere near the 70s/80s; you clearly are not educated in the Jpnese language to know the etymology of the word let alone its usage esp. in the 70-90s. If you are saying you were consciously aware in the eighties, it would mean you are a forty year old man right now – which I highly doubt. One thing for sure, it definitely wasn’t used in Japan let alone any form of importation westward. I suggest you read Japanese books with the history of the word (only problem is they are written in native Jpnese so you won’t understand, which is where your arrogance comes in). You are so dumb to assume it hasn’t been corrupted, it’s blatantly obvious you are not educated in Japanese and are probably was only interested in it for its tv series rather than actual culture because you have no ties to the country. It has been corrupted, how about you do a youtalk with a Japanese who can speak English and have them explain it to you (again ignoring me to tell you to look for actual native japanese 言語学ぶ方法 sources). [Wonder when you heard of the word and told yourself to believe “Oh, it means cartoon porn!”. You would have looked so daft LOL]. Oh sure you know the original meaning – now you just talk utter shit as if you knew the meaning (obvious you didn’t, especially regarding your sentence prior heavily contradicts it displaying your arrogance. How would you know the original if according to you “it wasn’t corrupted”. Actually, au contrare, I have been studying Jpnese for over 10 years now and I have a blood tie to Japan via my grandfather and his wife (my grandparents). You just sound silly assuming this because you have no basis claim so you are trying to throw a downplay card which clearly hasn’t worked. Wow, you really are bizarre, everything in your last paragraph clearly depicts yourself that its a wonder how you crossed passed it. In terms of corruption, no. おっめぇは本当にゲス野郎やね コノガラクタメ。Most words have been adopted as legitimate English words prior to the last century – but most words come from Europe and use a Latin-Greek combination process. And other words actually retain their actual meanings, whether from Hindi, Chinese, etc. Your argument would have been somewhat convincing if you had your own examples (of course we are talking of a language from the opposite end of the world through heliogeographic positioning). Thank you for your care (sarcasm), for starters I’m older than that but I know you will go into denial mode; the irony is that there would be people here who actually are under eighteen that you are not addressing generally here while also drawing scrawny, basically child characters – otherwise you draw child porn (of characters under 18/21 depending on the state) and yet you have the nerve to state this as an issue. Especially since you live under US law where is technically isn’t allowed but are only allowed to get away with the cyber mass like those in boorus. I’ve obviously made my case, I know you may be raging but keep calm, travel and learn actual languages rather than one-off words you’ve heard from a netizen with corrupted knowledge or otherwise. Regardless, later ?.

You’re just wrong. Like… your post is a rambling mess of lies and nonsense, plain and simple. The funniest part is you’re so lacking in self awareness you can’t even realize how ridiculous you look. I’m not mad at anything you’ve said, your inept raging over a word that’s been commonly used in America the way I’m using it for decades is… It’s more confusing than anything else? Your justifications of “studying Japanese for 10 years” and everything that follow comes across like flat out lies used to justify the misinformation you provided in the first half of your little essay, I can’t take anything you say seriously.
The simple fact is, the word “hentai” has a different meaning in English than it does in Japanese. I wrote in English and used the English meaning in my usage, which is perfectly normal and correct. The word appears in real, printed dictionaries with this definition, it is categorized in book and video stores with this usage. Thousands of websites use it the way I do, and any person using the phrase in English will use it with this meaning. The original Japanese meaning is extremely common knowledge, the type of thing school children will use to look smarter than they are (sort of like you’re doing which, combined with a seeming confusion over how anime came to America prior to 2000 is part of why I have to assume you’re pretty young). Your continued roleplay of a superior moral high ground is extremely transparent, and as long as you keep replying with these hilariously inept attempts to prove a very stupid point I’m going to keep baiting you into giving me more comedy gold.
