In the last page, Envy turned into Yuji in an attempt to dominate the Elrics. Here, we see that plan didn’t really work out for him. There were a few scripts with this theme to them, and I tried to combine elements from a few of them for what I hope will be a fun page.
So there’s two ways to go with a question like this. One way is to find Studio members similar to characters Shinso befriended in canon (like the ones he listed here), who’d be more outgoing, friendly type. For this Ask, at least, I decided to go the other way and try to find someone who more closely matched his energy. I’m sure there’s a few options, but Choso is who immediately came to mind for me. I think they look good together, anyway.
So while I don’t know much about Natsu or Shiki, nor how they’d interact, I figure this is a crossover some folks would like to see.
This is the first entry of a new series, but something of a sequel to a very old series. Early on, I had a little thing going just called “CrossOver Yuri” or COY. I had a huge list of girls I’d randomly select from to make pairings. It was fun, but I stopped doing them ages ago.
This is a little different. This time, my list is intergender, and there’s an extra list of “kinks.” Now, many of these kinks are pretty vanilla, but the way this new series will go is like this. Two characters will get paired up randomly from my list, and then they’ll get a kink randomly selected as well. For this first entry, our winning characters were Vegeta and Momo Nishimiya. Their kink was Public/Voyeur, one that has a bit of leeway in how I handle it. I thought it’d be fun to put them on a bench in the park, and I used a randomizer to pick a Studio resident that’s present for the action. Tiana feels a bit awkward about it, but they don’t seem like they’re stopping any time soon.
I don’t really expect to do these super often, but I hope people will enjoy them when I do!
So Hanae is married in Maison Ikkoku, but I don’t think her husband represents her “type” necessarily. The type of guys she usually comments on being hot are mostly generic handsome dudes, nothing too out there or anything. In hindsight, part of me is thinking I might should’ve partnered her with Aki here instead, since he fits the type even more so (I think) while also having a loose connection to Hanae through Himeno and Akemi’s established relationship. Megumi doesn’t get to have much fun on camera, though, so it’s nice to see him get a little action outside what he’s used to.
A couple years ago, I got a bit of an itch and sketched a bunch of Canary/Zofia stuff. I don’t remember what exactly spawned the idea, maybe just that they’re both characters I’m fond of with pretty limited existing partner options. Regardless, I was thinking about maybe using those sketches for a Studio Tour pic or maybe a little one-off comic, but never really did. This question made me think of them, though, so I decided to go ahead and canonize the relationship. This isn’t one of those sketches, I did a new pic of them for this, but I might find an excuse to use them later if I want to explore this random crossover pairing a bit more.
So there’s a running gag in Bocchi the Rock! that Ryo, despite coming from a well-off family, is always broke and borrowing money from her friends. This is usually chalked up to her always buying new guitars and such. Now, in the Studio, I’ve more than once implied that they don’t really use money, or at least it’s not necessary to get by since it’s a sci-fi utopian type location. However, due to rule of funny, I think Ryo would still find a way. I wanted to pair her with someone else who would still place value on money even in the Studio, and Kanamori seemed like a perfect fit for a few different reasons.
This here is one of two Lord Tier commissions I’ve got lined up for this month. This Subscriber paid a little extra to get three characters involved, two boys from The Elusive Samurai and Erza from Fairy Tail. The dialogue here was all written by the commissioner.
I’m sure most of you are aware that there’s a running gag in Pokémon where James will crossdress whenever Team Rocket is trying to trick Ash and his friends. It doesn’t happen every time, and sometimes Jessie will also crossdress or sometimes they’ll just both be women. Regardless, he has a number of iconic looks through this gag that I’ve never done anything with, and I thought it’d be fun to change that. I went with this gyaru look he uses early in the series when giving Ash, Misty and Brock tickets onto a cruise liner that drives the plot for a few episodes. Both James and Jessie looked great in this disguise, I think, and I wouldn’t mind doing something with them as a pair with this disguise at some point. Originally I had James with just an anon, but I was trying to think of a good partner who’d like this look. While I don’t remember Todo having a specific interest in gyarus, they don’t seem that far outside his tastes, and James as a woman is both on the taller side and has a big ass. So I went that route to make it more interesting.
While working on this, it occurred to me that James’s crossdressing is a bit reminiscent of Bugs Bunny. Hopefully y’all will know what I mean, but something about the way they both adopt characters and disguises the audience is meant to see through but other characters can’t has a similar vibe to me. I’ve been thinking of doing some sort of pic series inspired by this tenuous connection, but I can’t promise I will. Maybe something where they’re both using different iconic looks to bring in studs in the Studio, like a competition. I’d be interested to hear if anyone would like something like that.
It’s been a minute since I did a First Shoot, and I think it’s because I’ve kinda burned out on the concept. The last poll we did for this series resulted in another three-way tie, the first of which is Purah here. I think once I finish these three shoots I’ll take a bit of a break from this series.
Purah’s a character I like a lot, but was always hesitant to draw just because I figured her design would be a pain to work with. I was right, of course, but I’m happy to have done at least this much with her. Her partner here feels like she couldn’t be more random (which of course she is), but I think they make an oddly nice pair.
