Lily’s Garden is one of those games where you spend energy to upgrade your garden, unlocking story cutscenes as you progress. At least, that’s what it looks like. I’ve never played it, nor do I have any interest in it, but what I do have interest in is the game’s ads. I assume some of you will be familiar with them, but the Lily’s Garden ads are basically little abridged soap opera plots, ones which have nothing to do with the game itself besides using the same characters (or so I’ve been told). Lily herself, as a character, reminds me of a lot of the MILF characters I like in animated movies. In my head I group her alongside the likes of Aunt Cass, Helen Parr and Annie Hughes, so I’ve been interested in her since I first heard of the game’s bizarre advertising campaign. I’ve been toying with possibly drawing her for… gosh, at least a year at this point, I’m sure, but it wasn’t until I was made aware of a particular ad that I made up my mind to do it. The ad has Lily dreaming, fantasizing about kissing miss Evilyn Frost before she wakes up. As far as I can tell, Frost is a soap opera star, one Lily is a fan of, who wants to buy out her garden for some nefarious plot (she appears to be the game’s villain). In the ads she comes across more like Lily’s boss in an office job or something, but either way Lily lusting after this older woman was too up my alley for me to ignore. So I did this simple pic of them, but I might return to these characters later. There’s a handful of girls in the ads I like (including a canon lesbian couple, at least in the universe of the ads), and I really like this Lily/Frost pairing, but we’ll see how things go.
