The WWOEC Woman of the Month for January 2013 is Sheila Sternwell, nominated by yours truly. I enjoyed Time Squad as a kid, though the show doesn’t hold up that well today, and I always liked Sheila. In a show with completely incompetent heroes, it’s nice to have a badass redhead to show that the rest of the Time Squad is at least good at what they do. Also, dem Hartman Hips.
This has been a bad month for me, production wise, but I finally got the next page of Eromugen out. I’m rather happy with this page. It has some flaws, sure, but I think it gets across what I want it to.
This is the first time we’ve seen Siat’s mother (Uwora) and sister (Asuka, who was designed by a friend of mine, so I can’t take credit for her). It’s also the first time I’ve used the term “Ikimimi” and, since I’m not positive how much detail I’ll go into in the comic itself, I’d like to take a moment to explain the way Ikimimis (and Ikimonos, which haven’t been introduced yet) work in this universe.
An Ikimono is basically what most people would refer to as a furry. They’re anthromorphic creatures with human enough bodies, but animal fur, faces hands, feet, tails, etc. In this society they aren’t considered sentient (though they are) and live in tribal communities outside the cities. Ikimimis, however, are a magically-created half-species between humans and Ikimonos. This is what Siat is. Ikimimis also don’t have any rights in this society, but are considered domesticated and are raised as pets. Ikimimis are often used for sexual pleasure, though it’s considered perverse it’s not illegal to sleep with them. Hopefully I’ve explained this coherently, though I imagine most of this will become obvious by the end of this chapter.
The WWOEC Woman of the Month for December of 2012 is Tatiana Orpheus of the Venture Brothers. I’m really disappointed with this pic. I love the Venture Bros. and wanted to do justice to this character, but December has been an unproductive month for me art-wise. I’m wanting to do more Venture pics later, though, so maybe there’s some chance for redemption there.
This here is the WWOEC Woman of the Month for November of 2012. I’ve enver heard of this franchise before, so this is my first exposure to the character. As best I can tell, she’s basically the Baroness from G.I. Joe, while the brunette here, Gloria Baker, was Cover Girl, or Lady Jaye or something. I’m not that familiar with G.I. Joe, either…
