Persona 5 Commission

Here’s a commission I recently finished, one of the ones off the “Fire Sale” list. Persona 5 did not exist when this commission was bought (it was originally this same thing, just different characters), but when I contacted the client he wanted to see these four instead. This one took longer than it should have, possibly because it was four characters…? I honestly don’t know. I don’t know why it took as long as it did. Hopefully you guys like it, though. These characters are all from Persona 5, the most recent game in the series. I haven’t played this game myself, but I’ve watched others play it some and it seems good. Like the other games there’s some attractive, if a bit generic, characters to pull from.

Persona 4

Let me start off by saying I’m not happy with this picture. For some reason it never really clicked for me, and there were additional problems while working on it, but in the end the client was happy with it and that’s what counts. I’m still posting it here for those of you who will also like it like he did, because my taste isn’t the beginning and end of what people can enjoy. 🙂

I don’t want to get into the issues I had with this pic, in case doing so might spoil it for people who do like it, but I will say I like some of the characters used. I’ve never played a Persona game, but I’m pretty familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei brand and I typically like the characters. P4 has several female characters I really dig, but I also like Teddie (the blonde whose face is obscured) quite a bit, and wouldn’t mind doing a more concentrated picture some time featuring him. Kou (the bluish-grey-haired one with his feet sticking out) was also pretty cute in the anime episode focused on him, but I don’t know if I’ll ever draw him again. I don’t really care for the other two guys in this pic, though.

The real good news, though, is that this is the last of the commissions I had lined up. I can now focus more on my own things, as commissions will remain closed for a while yet. I still have some that will be coming around when the month rolls over, and I also I have a few special arrangements with friends that might crop up. Besides those, though, I’m looking forward to focusing on my comics, pumping out a few more Near Pokédex entries alongside a bunch more standalone pics. I’m really excited to getting back to deciding my own fate for a while until I’m desperate for money again.

Zelenin/Toriumi/Mari

This is a commission I recently wrapped up featuring (from left-to-right) Zelenin from Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, Isako Toriumi from Persona 3, and Mari Mochizuki from Devil Survivor.

I don’t have much to say on this one, which is unfortunate as I haven’t produced much content lately. The pose was picked out by the commissioner, and I can’t take any credit for it.

Maki, Isabeau & Argilla

This is another commissioned piece featuring Isabeau and Argilla (who I’ve drawn before), and introducing Maki Sonomura from Megami Ibunroku Persona, the first in the acclaimed Persona series. Not too much to say about this one, other than that I like the pose the commissioner and I decided on for this one. I think everyone turned out looking pretty good.

Persona 2 Girls

Of the multiple commissions I’m currently balancing, I somehow found time in the midst of holiday preparations to actually finish one! This is a picture of Eriko Kirishima, Maya Amano and Lisa Silverman of Persona 2. I’ve always found the Persona games to have remarkable style and design to them, to regretfully I’ve never played one. Still, it was fun to do this picture, which was commissioned by the same individual who did the earlier Maya pic.

Maya Amano Reverse Cowgirl

Here’s one of the many commissions I’m working on right now. This one was for Maya Amano (from Persona 2: Eternal Punishment) in reverse cowgirl, and enjoying it. A pretty simple order to fill once I had the time, and it turned out better than I thought it would at the start. For some reason the first draft turned out just awful, but some revision and color really turned it around. I hope you guys like it, too.
