Yelena is the Near Hentai Monthly Lady for May 2024. Yelena’s kind of a weird character in Attack on Titan. I can’t really say I’m a fan of her or anything, but she is involved in a few of my favorite moments from the fourth season and has an interesting presence to her. She also towers over everyone on the cast, which is fun. I’d considered drawing her a few times in the past, but my interest in AOT pics faded before I got around to her. There’s a few reasonable options for partners for her, but I’d decided a long time ago that if I ever did draw her it’d be with Onyankopon first. He’s far from her closest relationship, but they get introduced together hand share a lot of screentime. Plus, he’s a character I kinda like but don’t really have a good reason to draw, so this is kind of a convenient excuse to get him into the Studio. I found I really liked working with Yelena here for this pic, though, and while I don’t expect her to become a huge star in the Studio I do plan to draw her a bit more in the future.

With this post, NHML nominations for the month of June are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, Attack on Titan. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on June 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month.
