When “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” came out I began thinking about doing something with the old animated series design of Lydia. I only saw this show a handful of times as a kid, but I’ve seen this version of Lydia around a lot in various places. Lydia’s relationship with her step-mom is pretty strained in both the original film and the cartoon, although the sequel did show a more nuanced and sweet side to their dynamic.

I never confused it with the live-action movie, but I didn’t know there was a cartoon version of this series. After actually watching it, I really appreciate the merits of having both versions exist.
It’s great to see Delia in the studio. I’ve actually tried to nominate her for the monthly contest several times. I can’t wait to see what else see does.
