I wanted to answer this Ask for a couple of simple reasons. One, it’s kinda fun to have one of the characters deprecate me and my shifting interests, but also I think some of Satsuki’s answer here can be applied to most of the characters people ask me why I don’t draw more. One other reason was just that I just felt like drawing Satsuki again. I did that pin-up pic of her and her sister not too long ago, but Satsuki hasn’t gotten to appear in stuff solo so here’s her chance.
So this is a pic I sketched back in December of 2018. I was feeling like doing something with Ryūko and Satsuki, but every time I drew them fucking I wasn’t really happy with it… In the end, I decided to do more of a pin-up thing, ’cause all I really wanted was to draw their bodies and get a look at them. At the time I thought this would be one of those pics I get out pretty quickly after I start it, but it ended up getting put on the side for a long time instead. I picked it up now, though, and we’ve got the final pic here!
So, one thing about Ryuko that I wanted to bring into this answer is how flustered she sometimes gets around sexuality and nudity. I don’t think she’s a prude or anything, but she seems like she can get easily embarrassed, and I like the idea of a more confident girl like Satsuki being able to push her buttons just right to gain the upper hand in a sexual encounter. Every time I’ve drawn these two before it’s been Ryuko chowing down on some Satsuki butt, which she seems to enjoy (and who can blame her), but I wanted to show a different wrinkle here. Ryuko’s not being, like, a BDSM sub here or anything, but she’s definitely taken a more submissive/receptive role now that Satsuki’s decided she wants a taste. 😉
So this Ask is specifically referencing the first time I drew either Ryūko or Satsuki, where the former was rimming the latter. I wasn’t too sure the best way to answer this, other than to take a second go at the concept. Ryūko just can’t get enough of her sister’s ass, I guess.
Poor Ryūko’s kinda a forgotten veteran around the studio. I drew her exactly once before back when I was working on a Kill la Kill AMV, and I don’t think most people remember that pic. Someone did, though, and decided to check in on her. I tried for a certain aesthetic with the girls Ryūko’s interested in (and they’re all girls, since I can only see her as a lesbian). I doubt I’ll draw any of these pairings ever, but they’re fun to think about.
I mentioned earlier that I have a bunch of old pictures I’m looking to color and share. This is one of those pics. I made a Kill la Kill AMV earlier this year, and while working on it I started wanting to draw Ryuko and Satsuki. Satsuki’s one of my favorite anime girls, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I returned to her again in the future. Some day I’d like to do something involving her and her mother… We’ll see.
