Blaziken’s one of those Pokémon I see lewded all the time, so I figured it was time to get one into the Near Pokédex.
Mawile’s a Pokémon I always thought was really cute. I had one in my party for pretty much all of my playthrough of Y, and I’m a little surprised I waited this long to do a Pokédex entry for one. At any rate, here she is, I hope y’all like her.
I mentioned before I’m trying to get in the habit of doing Pokédex entries more often, and here’s me attempting that. I’ve seen other artists do some fun stuff with Medicham, so I wanted to take a stab at it. Like with Machoke, I treated the part of Medicham’s design that looks like pants as if they were pants (not sure what the canon is on that) that could be removed.
When I drew Squirtle the past two times, I really struggled with deciding how to handle the shell. I felt like it had to stay on, since real turtles can’t take their shells off like in cartoons, but I decided to abandon that idea here. This allows me to focus more on the body of the ‘mon than I otherwise could, and hopefully that paid off here. I guess I’ll check and see how people feel before deciding how to handle the next turtle I draw.
Here is the Near Pokédex entry for Milotic. I decided to handle her transition into an anthro design similar to how I did Arbok back in the day, giving her a pretty normal human physique with what’s normally the lower part of her body becoming a lizard-like tail.
I’ve wanted to do the NPF entry for Charizard for a while. Not counting variations, this wraps up the full evolution chain for Charmander on both the NPF and NPM Pokédex series. I don’t usually use accessories to feminize or masculinize the base Pokémon designs, but in this case I gave her a little bow because of a Charizard with a similar bow we see in the anime (and who Ash’s Charizard seems to be infatuated with, as I recall).
Espeon tied with Kirlia in the last poll I did, which is why we’ve gotten two female Near Pokédex entries back-to-back. It took a while to get around to her, but now that Espeon’s done I’ll be switching back over to the male ‘dex for the next release of this series.
The Eeveelutions are always really popular, and I think Espeon’s among the cuter of them. I decided to use two trainers for her, and I hope y’all like the results!
I know it’s been a while, but I found a little time to work on the Pokédex again. When I ran the poll last time to see who would be next, there was a tie. Kirlia was one of them, but like I did for the last tie with the male side of the ‘dex I plan to draw both winners before switching sides again. So expect another NPF entry in the future, but who knows when.
Kirlia has a very clear ballerina aesthetic to her design, and I wanted to incorporate that somehow into the pic. My first drafts had her in the classical ballerina pose (one leg in the air, arms arched over her head, with the guy behind her plowing in). It looked, er… okay, I guess, but I wasn’t really happy with it. It felt forced. In the end, I decided to go with a pose that felt a bit more natural to me. It still requires a ballerina-type balance and leg strength to pull off, I think, but is also much lewder and less posed than the other idea.
Here’s the newest entry for my Near Pokédex series. The poll I ran picked Lopunny for this entry (and funnily enough, the poll was run around Easter time). Lopunny was obviously gonna be picked for this series sooner or later, but I hope her inevitable entry is a fun one for everyone. ^_^
So Vaporeon won my last poll for the ‘dex. It’s not surprising to see another Eevee-line winner (Eevee tied for first on my last male poll, too), and I kinda suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Eeveelutions through this polling system in the future. I always imagined Vaporeon to have a smooth texture instead of being furry like most of the Eeveelutions, so for this one I tried to make her extra shiny to convey that. I had a little bit of trouble fitting the full drawing into here without making them too small, so apologies her hand is off-screen and the tail’s partially obscured/cut off, but I think this is the best framing of it possible.
