This is an older pic I decided to pick back up. I thought it’d be fun to see a little sisterly bonding between Adora and her fellow Horde soldiers, Lonnie and Catra. Lonnie’s a character I liked a lot in She-Ra, but she doesn’t really have any natural pairings like most of the other characters in that show (the other direction to take her would be to pair her with Kyle and Rogelio, I think, but I decided to go this route this time). I’m happy to fit her in here, though, and maybe I’ll get the chance to draw her again eventually.
So, I don’t really think of Adora as having a catgirl fetish or anything. Her connection with Catra is based more on their shared childhood experiences and escaping trauma, though being with a catgirl might make her find cat-like traits in others more attractive by association. Regardless, I did like the idea of pairing her up with someone, and I’ve been looking for an excuse to draw Dr. Pussycat again. This pic kinda built on top of itself with a handful of ideas, but I really like the final result.
Also, here is the Q&A vid I did for Subscribers last month:
Adora’s probably not really a “top” star in the Near Hentai Studios. I’ve drawn her a few times, but probably not as many times as I have Eda. So, even though I framed Eda’s motivation as wanting to work with the biggest or most popular stars, in reality I just want to cross her over with whomever tickles my fancy. For Eda’s purposes it doesn’t really make a huge difference, as her goal is to raise her number of appearances until she’s in the same league as the performers who made it into the Calendar project. I think Adora’s really cute, and I kinda like her dynamic with Eda here. I’ll probably do a future entry of Eda with She-Ra, but for now this is good enough.
The last time I drew Adora and Catra, it was set pre-series, when the two of them were BFFs. This one is after Adora becomes She-Ra, when the two of them are mortal enemies (albeit with sexual tension bursting from the seams). I don’t do it often, but I enjoy a good “villain captures hero” scenario, provided the characters have the right sort of chemistry (which these two do). There’s actually a handful of times in the series Catra has Adora/She-Ra at her mercy, and those scenes always feel like they’re a few steps away from turning into something like what I’ve drawn here. So, yeah, this one feels like kinda an obvious scenario, and while I typically try and avoid those, I love these characters too much to not have a little fun with it. Hope you all enjoy.
So I really like pairing Adora with Catra. They’re enemies throughout the series, but at the very start they’re best friends (and this carries through the tone of their rivalry). This pic takes place before Adora becomes She-Ra, when they’re still friends, but I also wanna do stuff from when they’re enemies later.
So this is Adora with Shadow Weaver, from the Netflix’s She-Ra. Shadow Weaver raised Adora and Catra (and presumably the other Horde members their age, too), making this sort of like a MomSwap pic, at least in some ways. I was always really attracted to the classic Shadow Weaver design, and while I’m not as attracted to her redesign, I like this version of the character a lot more. She’s got a lot of interesting elements at play in her characterization, and I’m excited to see how she develops in future episodes. As for this pic, obviously it takes place before Adora left the Horde to become She-Ra. Shadow Weaver has made it clear Adora was always her favorite, so a pairing like this feels right up my alley. ^_^
