I’ve been on a real Dragon Ball kick lately. There’s probably going to be a lot more to come over the next few months. Probably it won’t all be like these most recent pics, I do have some straight and yuri concepts I’d like to do as well. I also hope to draw some other properties soon, but we’ll see where my interests take me. Right now I have, like, five other DBZ pics in the works, plus the start of a comic that I hope to be sharing soon.
So here’s a pic I just wrapped up. This one is actually based on a fanfic I wrote about eight or nine years ago (unreleased, I never shared any of my fics). It’s set just before the Cell Games when Goku and Gohan were in constant Super Saiyan mode. I always thought Gohan’s Super Saiyan look was really cute (Super Saiyan 2 as well, but that’s a pic for another day). I think this is also the first time I’ve drawn young Chi-Chi, so there’s that too for you guys.
This is a quick drawing I did a few months ago. I have a bunch of pics like this (by which I mean, quick sketches that I meant to flesh out but never did) sitting around on my laptop. Hopefully now that I’m finding more time to work on these things I can wrap a few of them up. I feel I’ve improved a bit since I drew this, so hopefully it’ll hold up for you guys.
I’ve done a few pics similar to this in the past, and they’re always relatively well-received. This is the first time we’ve had both the older and younger male being the same person, but DBZ’s time travel shenanigans make all sorts of fun things possible. Both versions of Trunks seem to be enjoying this quality time with their mother. 😉
I have no idea what the actual name of this pic is, or if it even has one, so I titled this post after my favorite part of the picture. 🙂
This is the second of four Pandoras Box pictures I’ve been commissioned to color. I was happy to do this one, since it only exists in sketch form to my knowledge, and I feel working with rough drafts and sketches is something I can do better than many other colorists. Since I ink everything I color anyway, having only a sketch to work off of isn’t a hindrance for me at all.
I hope you guys are enjoying the influx of PBX colors, and I should be able to get the other two done and posted during the month of October. Peace!
So… this is kind of an interesting story, I guess. First off, let me be clear that this is not part of the CrossOver Yuri series I used to do (and would like to resume at some point). No, this has a different origin. I was hanging out with two of my friends (who shall remain anonymous), and had a “brilliant” idea. You see, I have on my laptop a 29 GB folder full of pictures grabbed from Reddit, 4chan and various other places that I use either for reference or inspiration in my work. I let one friend choose a picture from this folder, and then (without showing him the picture) let the other choose which characters would fill the roles. This picture is the end result. Coming at some point will be another picture where we repeated the process, but my friends traded jobs in the selection process.
Despite the silly origin, I actually like this picture a whole lot. Sure, there’s no reason for these three characters to be together, but I like it anyway. Hopefully you will, too.
This is probably the only pencil work where I can keep some of the original sketch material. I really like this pic, even if I didn’t actually ink and color the “good” parts. This one, to my knowledge, never got fully shaded by PBX. I’m hoping to do more of those sketches floating around the ‘net in the future.
I love working with Pandoras Box’s work. I hope I’ll be able to do a lot more with PBX’s old stuff; I’ve set aside a lot of them to ink and color in the future.
COY stands for Cross Over Yuri. The premise is pretty simple, I have a list I’ve compiled of over 500 cute girls from various anime and manga. I then use a random number generator to make pairing, which I then draw. Every third picture is a threesome.
With this, I am officially caught up on COY here. I’m working on #14, but it could be a while still before it’s up.
I kind of like this one, although in hindsight I wish I could’ve done something more dynamic with it. I’m getting close to being able to draw without photo references, but I’m not quite there yet. Unfortunately, that means a lot of what I do is based on what sort of reference pics I can find, and creativity is the victim. 🙁
