I’ve been meaning to get back to Laid-Back Camp in MomSwap for a while now, and I’m happy to finally visit the Kagamiharas. I’ve drawn Nadeshiko and Sakura a few times before, but this is Shizuka’s debut. I think for a lot of ones like this, with more than one daughter, I’d just focus on whoever the “main” one is. In this case, though, Sakura’s a pretty important supporting character and has also been one of the flag bearers for LBC in the Studio. So, I figured she should be involved, too.
This is the final of my three planned Aoi Hana MomSwap entries. Yasuko is a cool basketball girl that Fumi dates for a bit in the show. We meet her family, including a few older sisters and her mother. Chie, Yasuko’s mom, is a bit older than the other two moms from this series I drew. We only meet her briefly, but she seemed nice and I thought she had a nice charm to her so I wanted to draw these two while I was at it.
Also, for anyone interested, here is the Q&A video I did for Subscribers last month:
This is the second of the three Aoi Hana MomSwaps I have planned. Akira is Fumi’s best friend and eventual love interest, and while I like her as a character she’s less my type design-wise. That creates an interesting dichotomy here for this entry, because it’s basically the daughter I’m least interested in plus the mom I’m most into, of the trio. Anyway, I hope some of y’all will enjoy these redheads.
Sabagebu! is one of those shows I watched and mostly just thought was okay, but I ended up liking a few of the characters disproportionately to how I felt about the show. I drew Momoka a while ago with one of the other girls, but I thought she had a pretty hot mom and that they’d make a good fit for this series.
So, just a reminder for folks who don’t know, but I have a handful of different categories for the types of ongoing comics I work on. One is the SubscribeStar monthly comics, of which there are four that cycle through one page per month on a rotation schedule. I also have a handful of comics that just update when I can get to them (Tournament of Power, Butt Witch’s Busy Weekend, Leave It All On the Court and The Eizouken’s Closer are the current lineup of those). The rest of the comics I do are on a rotation schedule, where I will work on one comic for 3-5 pages before then moving on to the next on the schedule. I have this schedule posted on the sidebar of my site, but it’s pretty far down, so I don’t know how often people see it.
This page marks the end of ZMN’s run as the focus comic in this rotation. I know it’s just getting to the good stuff, but it’ll probably be a while before we work our way back around to this one. For now, though, we’re going to leave things here and move on to the next comic in the rotation schedule, which I’ll talk more about when the first page of that comes out in about a month.
Here’s the second page of Zombie Movie Night! The girls continue their conversation. I know some people have gotten pretty testy with me over having longer build-ups in some comics, but in this one we have the Lollipop Chainsaw movie they’re watching to keep the pages spicy while I establish Ellie and Clem’s dynamic in this universe. Also, we’ve got a little bit of a nod to some Xoverse lore here.
This is one of the original pairings on my list when I first started the MomSwap series. However, due mostly to the art style of Dexter’s Lab, I kept putting it off. I’ve gotten to where I feel pretty comfortable adapting Dexter’s Mom, but Dee Dee’s in-series anatomy only resembles a human’s in the vaguest possible sense. I think I’ve settled on an approach that works without completely erasing their original designs, although I’m not completely happy with it just yet. However, I do hope people will like seeing them here regardless.
