So the answer portion of this Ask is kinda… I dunno, it’s not much of anything. Really I just wanted to draw Cocotte and Zangya again (though I still need to find the time for Cocotte’s Orientation, Part Two), so that’s what we’ve got here. I hope everyone enjoys seeing this pairing again. ^_^
Month: September 2020
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is a pretty fun gag anime that I watched the first couple seasons of a year or so ago. At the time there were a number of characters I was interested in possibly drawing, both male and female, but I think I just had too much on my plate at the time or something ’cause it never happened. Recently I began rewatching the show in order to share it with my sister, and I got the urge to draw from it again. When Mrs. Kaido, the mother of supporting character Shun, first showed up, my sister gushed on and on about how pretty she was. We haven’t yet gotten to the first episode with Shun’s sister, Sora, but I remembered her from my first viewing and decided I’d rearrange my MomSwap plans to put these two up front. I’m glad to finally have a Saiki K. pic under my belt, though hopefully it won’t be the last.
So, I’m always a little wary to do much with these two. I stopped watching Hunter × Hunter right around the time Pitou was introduced, so I didn’t experience her story or arc first-hand. I do know the events that transpire, though, so I just feel like I’m in a weird spot with their relationship. For those who played my game, though, you probably already have a good idea of their relationship in the Studio if you got Gon’s dialogue where he mentions her, but I figured this Ask might still be interesting for some. I put off answering this one for a long time mostly because I think there’s an inherent vagueness to it that makes it difficult to answer. Like, different circumstances can cover a wide, wide range of possibilities, and with infinite potential ways people can meet there’s always gonna be some way where people could get along well. I dunno, it was just kinda open, but I figured having Pitou appreciating Gon’s assets objectively might be a funny/cute way for her to respond.
I ended up with one extra commission for August than I’d originally expected, due to the move to SubscribeStar (several of my Master Tier people paid twice as a result, and I decided to bump those people all ahead one month for their annual rewards). It’s always been pretty common to pair Sailor Moon (and the other Sailor Scouts, too) with characters from contemporary boys’ anime. I think I’ve seen it most commonly done with DBZ, but they’re far from the only crossover I’ve seen for those gals. The commission here is all about pairing Serena/Usagi with Yusuke Urameshi of Yu Yu Hakusho, with both characters being popular protagonists from shows I watched when I was younger but haven’t drawn much of. This is the first time I’ve drawn either character, as it happens, which now opens them up for possible Character Asks down the line. The client wanted a softer, more romantic feel and I think that comes across here.
Also, here’s the Q&A video I did for my supporters last month:
This is the first Character Ask I’ve done from my new SubscribeStar page! I’m pretty excited about the new support page. I picked this Ask ’cause I know a fair number of people have wanted to see Meliodas show up in some yaoi content. I almost paired him with Luffy for this, which I think would’ve been fine, but I kinda wanted to do a “shota topping older boy” pic, since I feel like it’s been a minute since we’ve seen that. Trunks was an easy pick for the role, so here we are.
I wanted to answer this question for a few reasons. One is that I’ve got a lot of other stuff going on right now, and kinda wanted something simple to focus on, but that’s not the only reason. For those who don’t remember, Dragon Ball F was a side project I tried to get off the ground back in 2018. The premise was that, at some point in the past of this universe, someone had used the Dragon Balls (though now I’d say probably the Super Dragon Balls) to create a world of only women. So in this universe, characters like Chi-Chi and Bulma are largely the same, while all the male/alternatively gendered characters are female. People didn’t respond super well to the concept, but I was happy to see Vegeta from that concept getting a question. The one pic I did of Vegeta F (or Princess Vegeta, if you prefer) was from the Saiya-jin Saga of DBZ, which is why she has her tail here. In answering, I of course wanted to set in stone that she’s a separate person from Vegeta, but I also got to address a question I’ve had submitted but never answered, which is that for characters with multiple versions (like Gohan, for example), they are the same person and just use sci-fi tech to shift ages as needed for different shoots.
This is a commission I did where the client wanted to see Natsu from Fairy Tail and Rin from Blue Exorcist having some summertime fun. They wanted them to be in a poolside chair, but didn’t give any directions about the chair’s design or color, so I made them match the ones we see around the pool at the Near Hentai Studio in my game. I know a lot of people like both these boys and wanted to see more of them, so I hope you all enjoy the end result here!
So, full disclosure, I do not understand how hyena vaginas work. When I drew Elza with Crim in the past I just drew her as a basic futa, I think, but for this pic I tried to do a little research into how her genitalia are actually meant to look. I… don’t like looking at animal junk, and even doing so I still don’t really know how accurate this is. I took my best stab at it, but it’s possible this is still very incorrect. Sorry. ^_^;
