I imagine this post will require a bit of explanation for most folks. So, last year I put together a list of Studio Santas, an annual pin-up I’ve been doing for a few years now where a random Studio resident dons a Santa outfit and takes on hosting duties for the Studio Christmas Party. When making the list, I also went back and randomly selected a character for each year I’ve been doing Near Hentai, creating a canon backlog of people who’ve served as Santa in the past. I made sure each year, the winner was someone who was actually in the Studio at the time.
My plan is to do pin-ups for all of them, going in reverse chronological order. This’ll surely take a few years, especially if they all end up taking me as long to fit into my schedule as this one did. This is the “fourteenth” Studio Santa, the one who hosted the 2020 Christmas party.
The second thing I need to explain is the Ludibrio Chronicles. Some of you will remember this, but this is a project that actually predates Near Hentai. I was experimenting with my interest in femboys, and started putting together comics made of screencaps from live action porn scenes, then tracing over them and changing the women into feminine elf-like boys called Ludibrio. This was an exercise I really enjoyed at the time, and one I’m pretty sure heavily shaped a number of thing about my art going up even to today. I only completed a couple of these comics, but I have over a hundred plotted out that I never did. Aurum is from the first of them, traced over the pornstar Katia Geizer. Since he won this raffle, I did the same to make this pic, finding a photo from the same shoot as the original comic and just tracing over it while adding a Santa outfit. I went with a green Santa for him, since the idea for him was always to be a bit Link-like, and I think it fits.
