Lost and Found Files – Yumi Yamashita

It’s been a bit since the first one, but here’s another entry in my “Lost and Found Files,” a series where I show of and talk about unused characters of mine. This is Yumi Yamashita, from Kaito. Kaito was a long-running harem comic I wanted to do, but only ever got a few pages into drafting and never posted anywhere. Kaito, the protagonist, was the last character I shared for this series, and Yumi here was his girlfriend. The two of them were the only characters for this series I ever actually drew back then.

The premise of Kaito was inspired by Tenchi Muyo, and would see Kaito meet and hook up with a variety of eccentric alien girls. As his girlfriend from before the start of the story, Yumi was meant to be kinda a girl-next-door baseline type in comparison to the alien girls. For that reason she has a bit of an understated design, but I think she has her own charms. Her name is one I’ve actually reused a couple times, most recently for one of the ghost ladies in the Spookyverse.
