Here we have a commission I recently completed featuring three girls from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Daiya Higashikata, Jolyne Kujo, and Yasuho Hirose. I admit, I’ve never read the manga or anything, but I’ve always been fascinated by some of the more pop-art covers in the mangas and video games and such. I took my cue with the colors from that style, which is why they’re all green and pink here. I had a lot of fun with these psychedelic colors, and hopefully you all will as well!
This is the first of three Ultimate Muscle pictures I’ve been commissioned to draw. This one features Dik-Dik Van-Dik (Gazelleman), Check Mate and Keiko. I’ve visited the franchise before, doing some work for the original Kinnikuman, but now I’ve done some from the sequel series, known in Japan as Kinnikuman Nisei. Hope you all enjoy, there’s more to come!
The WWOEC Woman of the Month for October, 2013 is Princess Peach of the Mario franchise. I’ve always really liked Peach, and I’m not sure exactly why. I mean yeah, she’s cute, but she doesn’t seem to have much more going for her on the surface. Maybe it’s just how she manages to be so super-feminine while still sounding like a guy trying to impersonate a girl. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I’d like to do more with Peach in the future.
This is a pic by Iwasaki Tatsuya I colored. I really like Tatsuya-sama’s art style, he did a comic called “Monsterlog” that I loved when I was younger. If there was an English version, I would probably color it, too. His style is very unique, which may make it less palatable for some but it’s what draws me to his work. Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to color his work again.
As for the picture itself, I’ve always been fond of Mai. I like that hairstyle, which is why I’m also pretty fond of Chi-Chi and Twilight Sparkle (among others). There’s a really good comic featuring Mai I would like to color someday, but unfortunately it can take some time to work through a whole comic.
It’s been awhile since I posted any of my colorings, so here’s another Toluene Ittokan classic. I’ve seen this picture circulated for some time, and it’s easy to see why. Hopefully everyone will enjoy my coloring of it as much as they did the original (or the other coloring that’s been around for some time now, though I’m not personally a fan of that one).
