So this is the last Dragon Ball GT entry for the MomSwap series, Android 18 with her daughter Marron. I tried to space out the DBGT entries a bit so they wouldn’t be all grouped together, but I know some folks have been waiting for this entry since I first started the series. This one went a lot faster than I originally thought it would… I’ve just been in a MomSwap mood lately. The next entry may come along quickly, too. We’ll see.
It’s been a minute since the last MomSwap entry, so I decided to finish this one I’ve had sitting sketched out for a month or two. I mentioned at the start that all of the eligible girls from Sleepover Raid would be appearing in this series, and Violet and her mom were of course not exempt from that statement. Their relationship in this universe is a bit healthier than their one in the Xoverse, but Violet still can’t get enough of her mom’s ass. She’s using MomSwap in hopes of finding another girl with the same tastes (and shapely mom) as herself.
So last month for Christmas I did a picture from the film “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”. I mentioned when I did that I wanted to do Jake Spankenheimer’s mother and sister sometime for MomSwap and, well… it ended up happening faster than I thought.
I don’t know what it is about the characters of this film that draws me to them. The movie is pretty bad, I can’t even pretend I’m a fan of it, but the style emulates other, better works in a way that leads to pretty attractive character designs. While working on both that other pic and this one I found myself tempted to even draw some of the unnamed supporting cast. Cousin Mel from the other pic has an uncanny resemblance to Daphne Blake, while this picture’s Daphne looks like a blonde Melody from “The Little Mermaid II”. It’s probably just these familiar elements, but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if I draw this movie’s characters again.
Anyway, Daphne and her mother here don’t play a huge part in the film, but they both had pretty good designs and I like the idea of having some obscure characters in the MomSwap series. They won’t be the last ones, either, as I have a pretty damn long list of pairings I think could work in this series. These two aren’t even the most obscure ones, though there’s plenty of main stream mother/daughter couples left to feature as well.
I mentioned before that I had three Dragon Ball pairings lined up for MomSwap. I already did Pan and Videl, and now here’s the second pairing, Bra and Bulma. Of all the makeovers the Dragon Ball women got in GT, I think Bulma’s is one of the few I really like. Chi-Chi and Videl both turned out less interesting than they were in Z, and 18 was so-so, but Bulma’s GT design was pretty sexy in my book.
I went back and forth on which names to use here. If I was going for accuracy, I would’ve gone with “Bulla and Bulma Brief”. However, I can’t seem to shake the names I’m most familiar with, and so I stuck with the versions that are familiar to me. I’m not a purist.
So I finally got around to finishing a new MomSwap entry. I wanted to do a different type of source material than what I’ve been using for the series, so I did Lila Test and her twin daughters Susan and Mary from the show Johnny Test. I don’t really care for the show at all, but these characters are cute and I wanted a more Western-style show in the rotation (though there will be others). I tried to find a balance between the very 2D style of the show and my own style, hopefully it turned out well. Drawing Western cartoons has always been a struggle for me, but I think I’m getting better with it.
So Malezor recently shared with me some standalone images based on Space Warped that he had drawn up. While we try to get things going on chapter one in the future, I’m gonna color and post these every now and again, if for no other reason than to keep the project alive here on the blog. This first pic is just Goten and Trunks posing together, but the other images all include other characters (though they don’t stray too far from the tone of this pic).
