Subscriber Scenarios #23 – Movie Night

So I went a little overboard with this one, primarily because I had a few too many ideas for how I wanted to handle it. In the end it allowed for more conversation, though, and hopefully people won’t mind seeing this many characters on a big ol’ couch.
I picked this one in part because of Himeno’s recent tournament win. Clearly people want to see more of her, and I’m fond of her so I’m happy to oblige. Launch and Tien is a couple I’ve seen compared a bit to Himeno and Aki, partly due to Tien being a bit more stoic and Launch being unpredictable, mirroring Aki and Himeno’s dynamic a little bit. They’re also both ships that don’t get to become official in the source material. In Himeno’s victory pic I established a friendship between her and Hawkeye, so it made sense to me to bring them into movie night here and deepen that connection a bit. I also recently did a Film Appreciation Club Card for Eren, where I talked about Mikasa and Armin also being in that club, so it kinda felt like a fitting call to have them involved to. I tried to keep the action a bit varied and fun, hopefully there’s something for everyone here.

Subscriber Scenarios #20 – Valentine’s Day ’06

I wasn’t planning to do a Valentine’s Day pic for February’s Subscriber Scenario, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to do this one. Not only does this bring in two minor JJK characters I’d like to have in the Studio but had no real plans for, but it also marks the first time I’ve drawn Nanami’s younger design. I kinda pictured this as a bit of a laid-back hangout, with Gojo, Geto and Shoko not needing as much ice-breaking as Nanami and Haibara.

This Scenario had caught my eye a few times, mostly just because I’m fond of Amy. I had other scenes I wanted to do more at the time, plus I’m always a little nervous working with Groening series. I haven’t really seen any of the new Futurama episodes, so I don’t know if this situation is inspired by one of them or maybe an older episode I don’t remember… if so I apologize for not referencing it directly.

Subscriber Scenarios #18 – Take a Load Off

This Scenario is probably going to have less of a broad appeal, but it’s one I personally took a lot of interest in. This is one of the ideas I was considering last month, but since this Subscriber’s had a couple Scenarios I went with the Scooby one instead. This month I did go this way, as Maison Ikkoku’s an older anime I’m quite fond of. I’ve used it a bit in AMV work, and y’all have seen me draw Akemi Roppongi a few times by now. Kyoko Otonashi (center) and Hanae Ichinose (left) are both making their debuts in my work here, and I’m happy to have them. Kyoko’s the female lead of the series, and the manager of the building all the central characters live in. Hanae’s a mother and part of a trio (including Akemi) who frequently get drunk and party together. Both Hanae and Akemi have their own distinct relationship with Kyoko, but this sort of interaction doesn’t feel that far off for them.

While the premise here is maybe a little thin, it’s kinda fun I think. I always have a big soft spot for the Scooby-Doo gang, and it’s nice to finally get Fred and Scooby into the Studio, even if they’re not necessarily the focus here

Subscriber Scenarios #16 – Giant Pussies

So I don’t really know anything about these Seven Deadly Sins giants, but I was drawn to this Scenario for a couple reasons. One is just that I know Diane is popular, and has been a frequent nominee for NHML, so bringing her in here is something I figured some of y’all would fuck with. Another is, while the Scenario is framed narratively around Diane and Matrona, I had this idea of Nolan teaching Mark, since he strikes me as someone who’s been with a variety of body types in his “wild oats” days. So the Scenario has maybe a slightly different lean to it than this Subscriber had in mind, but I like this angle and I think it’s fun.
Matrona seems to have two hairstyles, one in flashbacks and one in the modern time of the series, I think. I don’t really know which fans of the show would consider he normal or default look, but I leaned more towards the latter design here where I used her flashback one last time I drew her.

Subscriber Scenarios #15 – Gem Competition

This Scenario marks our first new character debut through this reward since I introduced the option. With the way the initial prompt is worded I think this could have been interpreted as them both riding solo dildos stuck to the ground or something, but I liked the idea of this double-ended dildo position better. Jasper’s a character I don’t have much personal interest in, but I like Garnet a lot and thought it’d be fun to see her with a larger woman like this. I stopped watching Steven Universe before Jasper became part of the group, but I tried to go with designs for the characters that would make sense for something like this to be happening.

Subscriber Scenarios #14 – Magical Playdate

So this Scenario is building off of a previous one, featuring Corey’s parents and Nanami. I couldn’t really picture Yuji and Corey interacting the same way Nanami and Max did, however I could picture this. Corey and Yuji have different tastes (although I think Yuji’d be more open to Corey’s type than the inverse) but I thought it’d be cute to pair them with a couple Studio ladies who are connected but pair up well with them. I think this turned out to be a pretty cute little interaction, and I hope y’all will enjoy it.
