There’s not a ton of Kryptonians in the Studio, I don’t think, but there are a few. I don’t know for sure which ones this Subscriber had in mind, but I thought it’d be cute to see Lois with the Supergirl from a different universe.
This here’s the One-Shot for June 2024. As always, the script for this comic was submitted by a Subscriber. The theme here is Mark from Invincible hopping to other superhero universes for some fun. There’s an ulterior motive to this script, too, to get in some popular superhero characters I haven’t drawn before, especially in the first and third panels. This script has a few characters that have been popular for other artists to draw, but we’ll see if there’s interest in seeing them show up again after this.
This is basically just a follow up to a previous Ask with glasses Power. I thought it’d be fun to have her doing more of a group study session, and I picked three more-or-less random characters to fill the slots. Each of these three have their own reasons for going to Power, I think, but she doesn’t really care she’s just happy to spread knowledge.
So a long, long time ago I had a recurring commission client who bought a lot of my early bi and yaoi content. He commissioned a bit of super hero bi content, and some of the solo pics were posted back then. He also commissioned two short comics. They were never meant to be private or anything, but we were saving them with the intent of releasing them all together as a collection. We fell out of contact before that could happen, though, and I was a bit too embarrassed by the quality to release them at the time. Now, though, it’s been long enough that it doesn’t bother me to share old, poorer-quality content. I decided to release this comic now, and the other completed one I’ll share sometime in the future when I need to.
I can’t believe it took me this long to get around to the February page of our second Calendar project. I suspect finishing the first NHS Calendar made me unknowingly file it away as “finished” in my head, and I just haven’t gotten deep enough into this second Calendar for it to feel real yet. Regardless, I did manage to get our second page out, with Beast Boy getting paired up with the Freeman boys. Since February is the month of love and all, I decided to put them in a love hotel.
Here is the One-Shot comic for August of 2023! The script for this comic puts together several pairings that this Subscriber has been trying to make happen in Character Asks, but usually in ways I didn’t really feel I could make work in that format. They finally get to see some of their crossover ideas come to life here, though, and I hope y’all will enjoy the results.
“Alien Registration” is an idea I’ve been bouncing around for a little bit. Some of you may remember a Space Dandy One-Shot I did a while back, where Dandy “registered” four alien girls from his own series. What you might not know is, before that script one, the same Subscriber had submitted a different draft of it where Dandy was instead “registering” alien girls from other franchises. I kinda liked that idea, so I’m considering that One-Shot to be the unofficial start of this series, but here going forward they’ll be little one-off pics like this rather than comic pages.
Dandy might register some other aliens from Space Dandy, though mostly this series will be a crossover. It also won’t be purely straight, I think Dandy will need to be okay with registering some male aliens here and there. I think this is a fun little concept, and I hope y’all will enjoy it.
The winning Subscriber-submitted script for June 2023 features Raven, Starfire and Terra having some fun with our boys Goten and Trunks. This one’s pretty straightforward, and kinda feels like the old One-Shots from early in my Patreon career. I hope y’all will enjoy it, I feel like it’s been a minute since we’ve seen Goten and Trunks tag teaming some folks (or since we’ve seen these three Titans together).
I sketched this one a good while back. I’m not sure if I can articulate why I really wanted to do something with these two together, maybe just because I consider their respective shows part of a similar trend, but I wanted to bring them together so here they are. I can think of several shows that portray the heroes and villains dynamic as more like a form of roleplay (sometimes even romantic/sexual roleplay) instead of a battle between good and evil. The show Birdgirl spins off of, Harvey Birdman, is one such example, even. So it made sense to me that, in the Studio where crime and villainy are all pretty much out of the picture, characters who miss that dynamic might instead take to a form of mock battle that functions pretty explicitly as foreplay.
