Bean’s a character who I’m really fond of, but I don’t draw that often as her pics usually don’t get much response. That might be due to my own struggles with translating the Matt Groening style, or it might be to Disenchantment being much less popular than The Simpsons or Futurama, but either way I was happy to see her get an Ask submitted this month. Mora’s my main ship for her in the show, too, so it wasn’t hard for me to decide on answering this one. As for their relationship in the Studio, I’ve always pictured characters who need to live in water staying at a Studio aquarium, though with the sci-fi and magic at the Studio’s disposal it wouldn’t be hard for someone like Mora to get a human body to walk around in. Maybe she would for a date night or something, but I think she’d prefer to stay a mermaid most of the time, and let Bean come and visit her to catch up and have fun together.

Bean’s Beach Splash

Despite my interest in Bean from Disenchantment, a few things kept me from drawing more of her (outside of some recent commissions). One is that I feel iffy about my take on Groening characters, but another is that I just wasn’t feeling too many of her options for partners in the show. Really the only characters I had any interest in pairing her with were her two moms, and I might still do something there later, but in the most recent season she was given a love interest I actually kinda like. Mora is a mermaid who connects with Bean pretty quickly, and the scene I’m referencing with this pic is pretty much canon (it’s teased it may have been a dream, but it seems like it happened), where Bean and Mora have sex on a beach at night. I don’t know what kind of role she’ll be playing in the future, but I like this pairing regardless.

Anal Creampie Contest

Here is a fun little commission, I think. In case their heads obscure a bit too much of the banner, what we’re seeing here is an “Anal Creampie Contest”, where the gal who takes the most anal creampies will receive a year’s supply of anything she wants. I don’t know if there’s more contestants we can’t see, but of these three, Bean wants beer, Mako wants food (specifically the little croquettes we see her eating throughout the show) and Maps wants comic books. I like the dynamic here, and these three girls are all fun to draw. I hope you guys like the pic, too!

So this commission is a follow-up to last month’s featuring Bean on sale, just like the previous Carnal Kingdom commissions I’ve done. While that pic implied it was demons of the Carnal Kingdom who drunk Bean under the table to capture her, it seems she’s lucked out in finding a buyer who is also a prolific drinker, so she’ll never have to worry about being sober for too long.

Here’s another commission in the Carnal Kingdom universe, featuring another famous lass up for sale. I’d actually been thinking of doing something with Bean again already, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her chosen for this month’s commission. This time they decided to allude to how Bean here got captured with a little insert panel, to add a bit of levity to the pic. Like with the previous “For Sale” commissions, the plan is to follow this up next month with Bean and her buyer, so look forward to that.

Bean’s Beans

Are “beans” a slang term for nipples? I feel like they could be. I’m running with it at any rate.

I’ve been wanting to try and get back to some Matt Groening-style art lately… I’m still super uncertain with how to handle the style, and I don’t know if I’ll ever feel completely comfortable working in it. Maybe I could just make anime versions of the characters from his shows, but part of me feels they lose some of their charm in the translation. At any rate, I wanted a bit of practice (and for me, that means a complete picture, not just a sketch, ’cause a sketch only gets me so much), so I did this simple pic of Princess Tiabeanie (or just Bean) from the fairly recent Netflix series Disenchantment. I picked her mostly just so I can tick this series off the list (having now done at least one pic in all three of the Groening shows I’ve watched), though I do like Bean and wouldn’t mind drawing more of her or her two hot moms.
