It took me a little longer to get to than I’d originally intended, but I finally got another Dragon Ball F pin-up done. For this new revival series, I’m going in a roughly chronological order to characters’ scenes from the DBF stories in the literature section of my site. That means Raditz is a necessary early entry. I did draw a Raditz F before alongside Nappa and Vegeta, but this take is very different from her original design. One thing I wanted to make sure I did different was the physique. The old Raditz F was on the petite side, I think because I wanted to lean into her being the weaker member of the trio? But this time I wanted to lean into one element of Raditz’s design I think stands out, which is those long, tree-trunk like legs. So I tried to make sure the revisited version of Raditz F was a leggy bitch. I also decided to keep the widow’s peak this time. Originally I was reading both Raditz and Vegeta’s hairline as being, like, a male pattern baldness thing. This is partly due to how young Vegeta’s hair is done in the Bardock special, and there was also an established unofficial design for kid Raditz where he had bangs when he was younger, too. I’m keeping that choice for Vegeta F, but for Raditz I decided to let her keep the widow’s peak since I like how it looks on her. Anyway, I think this version feels a lot closer to a female AU version of Raditz than my old design, and I hope you guys will like her.
This seems like a bit of a fun Ask, and I’m happy to have the chance to use a Dragon Ball F character in some crossover content. I think the nature of the Dragon Ball F world would lead to some subtle differences in attitude between its residents and the original Z cast. I tried to use some of that in Eiko’s answer here. I’ve also always had it in my head that Goku would be well-trained in cunnilingus by Chi-Chi, but it also makes sense to me Goku F would have an edge on something like that.
There’s been a few Asks and the like looking for pairing the original Dragon Ball characters with their F versions. I’m currently in the process of revamping and redesigning the Dragon Ball F universe, so I’m a bit hesitant to do much with characters I plan to release new versions of soon. Vegeta F was one of the more successful designs from the original launch, and she won’t be that different in the new one. I did use the new design here, but she’ll get a proper pin-up eventually. I thought it’d be fun to lean into the fact that Gohan’s worked with his F version before, kinda spurring on that Saiya-jin competitive spirit.
I’m continuing to slowly work through my list of characters to do Dragon Ball F versions of. Piccolo’s a major player who I never got around to in my first run on this project, so it was fun to try my hand at her here. I’ve seen other people add hair to a female Piccolo, but I’ve decided to keep Namekians hairless in the DBF universe. The main feature I was worried about going in was the browline, as Toriyama’s always given Piccolo (and many others) this pronounced, masculine browline in lieu of eyebrows. I looked to Frieza’s design here for an idea of a more elegant/feminine take on an eyebrowless face in this style, and I think it worked well. While I don’t plan to draw Piccolo F often, for the same reasons I don’t draw regular Piccolo often, I do hope y’all like her and enjoy this little pin-up.
Since it’s been a minute, let me start by introducing the Dragon Ball F concept for anyone who doesn’t remember the older content.
Dragon Ball F is an older AU concept of mine, set in a universe where someone (probably Roshi) used the Super Dragon Balls to fundamentally rewrite that reality into one where only women exist. So it’s not a full genderswap AU, but all the male characters are women. In this universe, procreation happens with the help of futa beans, which have replaced senzu beans and are prevalent across the universe. I did some pics with this concept in the past, a few not that long ago, but I was never fully happy with the project and it kept sputtering out.
Not too long ago I began experimenting with using AI to write out a canon for Dragon Ball F, and this has really revitalized my interest in the project. I’m not really a proponent of AI or anything, and I find most uses of it I see to be pretty lame. However, I do toy around with it for some side projects, and in this case found it rather useful. Retelling all of DBZ would be way too big of a project for me to ever realistically do, unless I dropped all other projects and made that my whole identity. Obviously that’s not going to happen, but letting AI handle the bulk of the writing while I guide it is much faster and more manageable, even if the final result isn’t as high of quality. Compared to not existing at all, I think it’s acceptable.
You can find the chapters so far in the Literature Directory of my site, where they’ve been updating somewhat regularly. Working on this project has given me a better internal idea of how I see the “F” versions of characters, and it got me wanting a fresh start. So I’ve made a list of characters who I’d like to spotlight, starting of course with Goku. My original Goku F pic was a disaster, I honestly don’t remember what lead to the choices I made there, but I did tweak her design a bit in later pics to some success. This time I feel like I’ve finally settled on a design that suits her, and I hope y’all will like this version. Piccolo will be next, but I’m not looking to rush these out quickly or anything so it could be a bit before we see her.
I know I’ve described this somewhere before, maybe in Gohan’s spotlight interview, but it’s impossible to keep track of every time I explain Studio lore so I don’t blame anyone for finding it confusing. Characters who we see at different ages usually only exist once in the Studio, and can use sci-fi tech to jump to different ages if they need to for an Ask or something (this is why I say everyone in the Studio is an adult). Gohan F is an alternate universe Gohan, though, so she’s separate. If Future Gohan was in the Studio, he’d be separate, too, but since he’s not Gohan has to use workarounds to have sex with himself older like we see here.
I’ve had this idea for a while now. There’s a seen in the Saiya-jin Saga where Vegeta pummel Yajirobe while he’s upside down in some rubble. The scene’s right after Yajirobe cuts his back, but I think the tail cutting scene is more memorable so I decided to reference that for my Dragon Ball F reimagining of the scene here.
I had this idea a while ago, and finally got around to finishing the pic. I don’t remember what initially made me think of this scenario, but Vegeta F showing Goku F how to fuck her wife hard seemed kinda fun. For whatever reason I find this scenario playing out with the original DBZ cast harder to picture, I don’t know why it seems like a better fit with the F cast to me. This is also the first time I’ve drawn Vegeta F without her tail, since this situation would have to take place much later than the first time I drew her.
