King Dedede Character Ask 1

So this is an unusual Ask for me, in that I didn’t pick it to answer because I had a good answer in mind (that should be obvious just looking at it), or because I really wanted to draw the character again (I don’t really have much interest in Dedede). Rather, the supporter asking this question is a very loyal, long-time supporter who I appreciate, despite not having much in common tastes-wise. I feel bad for not getting to engage with their ideas as much as other supporters whose tastes are closer to mine, and I know that there’s a handful of my fans who liked my previous Dedede stuff… So this is more for those people than anything, I hope they like it. 🙂

Ash Ketchum Character Ask 9

Double Love Triangle may be over, but I’m sure all six of our stars from that project will stay in touch. Much like the kids from Sleepover Raid, meeting new people on set for a project like these can lead to lasting friendships (provided they don’t turn into the opposite, bitter rivalries). I knew the answer to this one wouldn’t be super interesting by itself, but I thought it’d be fun to spice it up by having another boy from the comic involved. I do like how Ash doesn’t even acknowledge Midoriya rimming him, though.

Near Pokédex F281 – Kirlia

I know it’s been a while, but I found a little time to work on the Pokédex again. When I ran the poll last time to see who would be next, there was a tie. Kirlia was one of them, but like I did for the last tie with the male side of the ‘dex I plan to draw both winners before switching sides again. So expect another NPF entry in the future, but who knows when.
Kirlia has a very clear ballerina aesthetic to her design, and I wanted to incorporate that somehow into the pic. My first drafts had her in the classical ballerina pose (one leg in the air, arms arched over her head, with the guy behind her plowing in). It looked, er… okay, I guess, but I wasn’t really happy with it. It felt forced. In the end, I decided to go with a pose that felt a bit more natural to me. It still requires a ballerina-type balance and leg strength to pull off, I think, but is also much lewder and less posed than the other idea.

Double Love Triangle, Page Ten

And with this, we wrap up the latest ongoing comic written by my supporters. Double Love Triangle was a fun ride, I think, but it’s over now. Usually I would start up a new comic for my supporters to write next month, but I’ve decided to take a break from them for a bit. Instead I’ll be expanding to the monthly One-Shots to five panels instead of four (which you’ll see in March). The Ongoing comics will come back eventually, I’m sure, but I’ve been overworking myself at the end of every month to get them done and needed a break. ^_^;

December ’19 One-Shot

Here’s the One-Shot I did for December, selected from nominations sent in by my supporters. Of course the holidays referenced in this comic have now passed, but it was more timely for my supporters. ^_^; This one presented a couple of unique challenges. First, was that I have very little experience working with the Fairly OddParents style (I’ve drawn it before, but it’s been ages). I did my best to find a compromise between my more realistic approach I usually use and the uber-stylized designs of the original characters. Also, the last panel was left completely open to me (except the dialogue). I decided that, since the pic was presented as a message from the Studio versions of characters, I should use Siat Wildstar, who’s sort of the mascot of the Studio. Since her panel is all about looking forward to the new year, too, I decided to work in a “look forward” theme, with her training three new characters (or, in Kefla’s case, a combination of two characters already in the Studio). Darkness is the last of the main KonoSuba girls for me to bring in, and Nessa’s a popular new character I’ve gotten a few requests for. Seras in the first panel is also new, though she’s been nominated for NHML maybe a dozen times. It’s also fun to bring in Mrs. Claus from the comic I did with CCat for Christmas 2018, paired again with her favorite boys, Mace and Jackie.

Professor Oak Character Ask 1

I’m kinda surprised I haven’t drawn Delia more than I have. So the joke about Oak fucking Ash’s mom while he’s out adventuring is an old one, since the anime tends to have Oak appear alongside her whenever Ash sees his mom. It’s probably unintentional, but they do come across a bit like a couple. I’ve always thought it was funny to re-purpose Oak’s lines from the games (that was the premise of the only other time I’ve drawn him, after all), so I worked that into this answer.

Ash Ketchum Character Ask 8

I had intended to answer this Ask in the previous month’s set, but then I got caught up worrying if I should count the Sun & Moon version of Ash as “a character I’ve drawn before”, since the art style is so different and I’d never done anything with this incarnation of the show. It was posted again this month, though, and I decided why not. I’ve switched between slight variations on the Ash design without much distinction in the past, so I figured I might as well just go for it here. Anyway, as you can see, Ash has no tanlines. So… there you go.
