Here’s the second page of hentaib’s comic “Mickey and the Queen”. In this page Mickey tries to break the possession of Minnie with a passionate kiss. Will it work?
So some of you may have noticed this site was down most of the night and into the morning (which is why this post is being made later in the day than usual). As far as I can tell this was a problem with my host’s server, which they seem to have fixed. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
Anyway, here’s the new colored page of ben_10mil’s comic Surprise! Like before, the original is included below.
So, while going through old work folders to re-upload old shit to this new site, I came across two doujins I had already made a lot of progress in coloring. One is a DBZ doujin I plan to return to after I finish this one, but this one is a great Mickey/Minnie comic by an artist called hentaib. I tried contacting this artist on FurAffinity back in the day, and never heard back, but I’m going to go ahead and share my version of the comic anyway.
The artist is Japanese, and so this doujin reads right-to-left. It’s also based on something most of you probably won’t know (I had to do quite a bit of digging to figure it out). It’s based on the live show “Mysterious Masquerade” they did at Tokyo Disney Sea for Halloween in 2009. Basically, the plot revolves around a Halloween party by the Disney characters. The party is crashed by some ghosts (thanks to Donald fucking around with some cursed tribal mask’s spear), and everyone but Mickey ends up possessed. Daisy becomes an Aztec goddess, Goofy becomes a pirate, Chip and Dale become Chinese ghosts, and Minnie becomes an evil Egyptian Queen. While possessed they have no memory of who they used to be, which is what this comic focuses on. None of the other characters come into play here, but the main starting point for this comic seems to be a scene in the show where “Queen Minnie” doesn’t recognize Mickey and calls him a commoner. This doujin will show Mickey taking some extreme measures to try and get Minnie to remember him.

So one side effect of re-uploading old content (including old colorization projects that were released before the Blogspot site, but never uploaded there) is that I’ve been finding lots of my old projects. Some of these I want to try and work on again, and some were far enough along that it’d be silly for me to not wrap them up so I can get extra content to share with you guys. This pic, for example, was already inked and partially colored, so it only took me about twenty minutes to finish.
This is part of a set of twelve doujinshi pages I had set aside. They’re all splash pages from the ends of other comics (not related to the main comics, and without any story or anything). As best I can tell (and I’m not 100% certain on this), all twelve pics are done by an artist called Akuno Toujou, but I can’t be positive with the info I have. In fact, I can’t even guarantee they’re all the same artist, they just look to me like they could be, but they come from different comics in my collection and a several are clearly a different art style than the main story they appear alongside. Regardless, if you guys like this first one I may go ahead and try coloring the other twelve some time. They’re all Sonic pics in a similar art style to this one, so if you like this let me know. ^_^
Here’s the next page of ben_10mil’s comic “Surprise!” all inked, colored and translated for you guys. As always, I’ve included the original version below for comparison’s sake.
So it’s been a while since the last update of this comic. This was largely due to some communication hiccups between Everfire and myself (Everfire changed emails without me knowing, then for some reason his emails to me got moved to spam and I missed them for almost a month, things like that). Eventually things were worked out, and now you guys can see the final result. I’m currently waiting for the version I can use of the final page (and checking my spam box this time, just in case), but when it gets here I plan to color it quickly so that this comic will finally be wrapped up properly.
Here’s the third page of ben_10mil’s comic “Surprise” colored. I decided to go a different route with the reveal of the second panel (as you can see below, the original version had little lightning bolts). I think the starburst here looks a bit better, and is also just funnier to me. Hopefully you guys like it, too.
So in early 2016 I had a commission client who wanted to purchase a few random manga pages to be colored. Even though this wasn’t exactly my normal style of commission, I agreed to, and the first was an Asuka/Shinji page from a doujin called ASUKA28. I colored it, and the client liked it so well that instead of doing the next page he had planned (which was from a completely different doujin) he asked me to do another page from ASUKA28. At the time he seemed very interested in getting the entire doujin colored, and so I sat on the two pages I had colored for a long time. However, I didn’t hear from him again, and even if I did I don’t know if I’d be able to take on a project like this again today. I just have too much else going on. I didn’t think it was worth keeping it squirreled away, so I decided to release the two pages I’d colored here for you guys. Here’s the second page of Surprise!, a comic by ben_10mil I am working on remastering (inking, coloring, and translating from the original Spanish). The translation I’m using is a bit loose, to try and make the dialogue a bit more natural-sounding. Below is the original page, for comparison’s sake.
This is the first page of “Surprise!” a comic by ben_10mil. When I first posted this on the old blog I had a lot to say about it, but now I can’t remember it all. For this project I am inking, coloring, and providing an approximate translation from the original comic (posted below). For the translation I’m going for a more loose approach to try and keep the dialogue sounding natural, since just a direct translation from Spanish sounds a bit stilted or maybe even out of character.
