I believe this scenario was intended for a more Studio-focused setting, like with Krillin hooking up with some boy from another franchise. However, I couldn’t get the idea of taking it this direction out of my head, so instead I had Krillin hooking up with 17 at the office.
This is the other half of the Gohan Lord Tier commission from earlier. The Subscriber who commissioned this wanted the pic set in the canopy bed from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber like in Special Training.
Here’s page five of our monthly SubscribeStar Bi Ongoing! There were only two scripts submitted for this month, which were fairly similar to one another, but I did my best to pull from both as we move into the real meat of this comic.
For the tenth magazine cover I thought I’d break the model and do a couples pairing. A number of Studio couples were nominated for this page, but I decided to go with Goku’s parents since I thought they struck a good balance of being a popular, loving couple who have a good presence in the Studio but still feel underrepresented.
A lot of people like these types of comparisons when you have alien super species. I think power works differently in Dragon Ball than many other franchises, though, and tried to work that into the answer. I should also note that, despite what he’s saying here, Vegeta did decide to go blue on Mark.
Page four! Like with all of the SubscribeStar Ongoings, this comic was written using ideas submitted by Subscribers! Now that Vegeta’s fully on board, we can move on into the meat of the comic.
Gohan, Goten and Trunks is a trio I’ve drawn plenty over the years, but I don’t think I’ve done anything with their designs from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. A simple one here, but one I hope fans of these versions of the characters will enjoy.
So this one may seem pretty straightforward, but I feel like I haven’t drawn Whis and Beerus much and thought they’d be fun to revisit. I kinda see these two keeping up their same dynamic in the Studio, even if they don’t carry their official titles and responsibilities anymore. I like to think Whis just genuinely enjoys taking care of Beerus.
So here’s the final page of Space Emperor Slut, finally! This ending has always been the plan, more or less, from day one. Funnily enough, however, this comic began before Frieza’s return in Super, so this setting was going to be different. The original plan was for Frieza to wake up in HFIL, and have a conversation with Cell. I changed it to take place during his training with Tagoma, and setting up a potential sequel (though we’ll see). This is another page where there’s not much difference between the two versions, but I need to keep it consistent (and there is a minor difference through the flashbacks).
