The theme for nominations this time around was “Ten and Under”, that is, characters who I’ve drawn ten times or less. There were some fun nominations, but I thought Johnny Bravo would make an interesting and different cover boy. We also haven’t really seen him in a role like this yet, so it’s something of a change of pace.
Yoruichi’s a character who’s struggled to get in appearances since debuting in that pin-up a while back, but I figured I could use this Ask to not only bring her back into the spotlight, but also set up a little Studio lore for how she’s been spending her time. I’ve mentioned the Studio’s cat cafe, Catflix & Chill, before in a previous Ask (one featuring Yoruichi’s costars here, Power and Anzu). While the cats who appear there are mostly regular cats, I thought the idea of Yoruichi going there in cat form to get pampered and relax sounded like a cute idea that could tie this Ask together.
I believe this scenario was intended for a more Studio-focused setting, like with Krillin hooking up with some boy from another franchise. However, I couldn’t get the idea of taking it this direction out of my head, so instead I had Krillin hooking up with 17 at the office.
Yuji’s appeared a few times with Eren in different pics at this point, so I figured if there was any good candidate to be someone outside of his initial friend group he’d open up to, it’d be him. I don’t have much of an idea about how their dynamic would play, though, so I focused this Ask instead on Eren.
I talked about the Superstar polls we did on Discord when I posted Inosuke’s recent pin-up, and this is the follow-up. The prize for the winner was to get a pic where they partnered with another Studio member of their choosing, so long as they hadn’t worked together on camera before. Mei won out in the end, beating out over five hundred other characters. I expected her to go far in the tournament, but I was kinda surprised to see her win the whole thing. Regardless, for her prize, she picked the relative newcomer Edward Elric as her partner.
Kind of a basic one here, but something I figured some of y’all might enjoy seeing. Since Ed spends pretty much the entirety of her time on screen in Cowboy Bebop barefoot, there’s naturally some interest in seeing her use her feet for more than typing. I figured I’d throw Spike in as her partner for a little extra flair.
A simple one here, but I figured it’d be fun to see Launch catch up with the boys.

I feel like this is a topic I’ve covered before, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to revisit it. Canonically, the Studio isn’t a place characters come and go from, but a thriving community where they all live and socialize. Of course, the real reason I chose this Ask to answer is that I haven’t drawn Jinx since a big group Teen Titans pic I did early in my career, and I wanted to revisit her.
