A while ago Natsu rather confidently declared he would top Gray, so here’s a fun response from Gray. Now, I don’t know much of anything about these two, what little I saw of Fairy Tail did not have Gray in it, but I’ve seen enough anime to kinda get the gist. I’m basically assuming these two have a similar dynamic to the hundreds of other characters like them I’ve seen before, and I’m just rolling with that when using them.
I recently watched mono, and I really enjoyed it. I checked it out ’cause it’s from the same creator as Laid-Back Camp, and even features a few cameos from that series, but I liked it a lot on its own merits as well. It’s a bit less focused thematically than LBC, with the main cast trying out a variety of interests instead of one specific hobby, but that just gave it an unpredictable, eclectic feel that I really vibed with. While I like all the characters, one who really caught my attention is Haruno Akiyama, seen here. I’m not sure what it is about her exactly, as she feels different to me than my usual type, but I got really attached to her while watching the show. I wanted to do this quick little pic while she was still fresh on my mind, but I’m hoping to do more with her eventually.
So mild spoiler for Steven Universe, but Garnet is a fusion of Ruby and Sapphire, two gems who fell in love and eventually get married later in the series. So with that in mind, this is an Ask about couples dating, double dates, etc. I’ll talk at a later date about a different route I considered for this one, but I ended up pairing her with Winry and Ed. With Garnet’s vibe I had this idea of her kinda toying with them both while she gave her answer, which I hope will help illustrate not only her own habits in the Studio, but her partners’ as well.
Cal’s a character who underwent a number of changes before his actual debut, though his core personality and interests have stayed relatively consistent. I think he has kinda a unique vibe to him, and I’ve enjoyed working with him where I have so far. There’s one more established member of the Applebridge High basketball team I’d like to get a bio out for sometime soon, though I can’t say for sure just yet when that will come.
For the longest time I always thought I’d eventually get around to drawing Haku, and it’d probably be with Naruto. Haku ended up making his Studio debut a different way, but I still thought a reunion would be nice to see. It’s been a long time since I saw any Naruto, let alone this arc, so I could be remembering it differently, but I feel like Naruto probably would’ve liked things to end differently than they did.
Kanne and Lawine are two supporting characters who appear prominently in the mage exam arc of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. They’re two childhood friends whose magic works well together, and they make a formidable team. Despite this, they’re constantly bickering, which gives them a cute love/hate dynamic. It’s clear they both care a lot for each other, though, and I find them pretty easy to ship. This is just a simple pic to break the ice (no pun intended) with them, but I’d like to draw them more together in the future.
I had an idea for how to handle this Ask last month, but I really didn’t think Ylva’s first appearance after her First Shoot should be with anyone other than Thorfinn. So I did that Ask as part of last month’s batch, but I really wanted to do this one during this month’s while I was still keen for the idea. I’m no expert on Vinland Saga, but to my knowledge these characters never meet in the series (especially not these versions of them). That’s part of the fun of the Studio, though. Of course I had to have Canute getting pegged again, it seems like the best course for both his and Ylva’s style to me.
With this one I kinda thought it’d be fun for Vegeta to show his playful side a little bit. We don’t see all that much of Vegeta and Raditz’s dynamic in the series, but I kinda feel like he liked to tease him. Probably canonically that would’ve been more mean-spirited, but here in the Studio it looks more like this.
