This is a little AMV/HMV I did of “Gushing Over Magical Girls” (Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete), a series that finished its first season recently and I quite enjoyed. This video is made for an 18+ AMV contest I’ll be entering later in the year, but I wanted to go ahead and share it here with y’all like I usually do. The song is “Crime Scene” by Night Club.

This is a commission done as a reward for one of my Lord Tier Subscribers. The concept here is pretty self-explanatory, I think, they did a good job of outlining the premise through the dialogue and the sign.
There’s quite a few “gremlin” type characters in the Studio, I think. Knowing this Subscriber’s tastes I’m also pretty sure who they had in mind, but when I was thinking about Nimona I just had this itch to see her with Denji. I think, beyond them both being definitively gremlin-pilled, Nimona would empathize with Denji’s story and maybe even want to nurture him a little. I have this clear image in my mind of how she’d see him, and I’m trying to allude to a bit of how I read their dynamic here with this answer.

Goku got dared to do something with a parent recently, so why not Vegeta as well? I didn’t really feel like fucking each other would be the type of bonding these two would do, though, but I had this idea for an exchange between them I thought would be cute.

Anzu got quite a few Asks submitted after her debut, which I was happy to see. I would’ve liked to do more of them this month, but the timing didn’t work out well for it. I did want to do at least one, though, and picked this one out of a few that I liked because I thought the “gamer girl” dynamic could be played in a cute way. I liked this idea of Rebecca taking the Studio approach to a question like this, while Anzu’s just focusing on her gaming. If I can, I want to do a lot more with Anzu in the coming months, so hopefully we’ll be seeing more of her down the road.
Denji and Raditz is one of those random crossover pairings that just kind of occurred to me one day. Now, to be clear, I don’t really see their relationship as romantic or anything, in this pic they’re just having some fun bro time. I do have a clear image of them, though, as this kind of stinky, troublesome little duo. It’s very easy for me to picture them hanging out and making something of a nuisance of themselves around the Studio, and I just kind of like the idea of them as pals. Of course, to illustrate that and be on brand means drawing them fucking here, but hopefully most of you won’t mind that.
The Near Hentai Monthly Lady for April 2024 is Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling. Marin was one of those fleeting internet waifus who was really popular in fanart during the original airing of her anime. I have a tumultuous relationship with these types of flavor-of-the-moment popular girls, but Marin’s one I did like as I enjoyed her show. Design wise she’s attractive, but in a sort of generic way, but her personality and mannerisms do a lot to elevator her in my eyes. I flirted with drawing her at the time, although I don’t really like getting in on trends much, and after her five minutes were up she did get a shot in a First Shoot poll, but came up short. She’s finally making it into the Studio now through the NHML, however, and her crush Wakana gets to join her.
With this post, NHML nominations for the month of May are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, My Dress-Up Darling. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. So I was kind of in the mood to do a Surge Ask when picking this one. She had several questions, but I wasn’t satisfied with the answers I was coming up with for the ones I could do, and so I figured I’d move on. Then I saw this question for Kintaro, and kinda thought I could work with that instead. Kintaro is very gay for women, and I don’t think he’d pass up a furry girl if presented with one. Surge is a little bit outside the type of woman I usually pair him with, but branching out is good and I like the idea of Kintaro being intrigued by how different some furries can be from what he knows.
