Now it’s Gi’s turn in this little Captain Planet miniseries. Gi was an early crush of mine, and I have a real soft spot for her despite feeling like she got the least spotlight out of the Planeteers (based on my memory, at least). She commands the power of water, so something-something wet joke.
I’m not sure if I’ve talked about it outside some Discord convos, but I have a list of Disney leading ladies I’d like to eventually fully cover. Megara’s on that list, and has been on my radar for a bit, even getting included in the First Shoot polls. Unfortunately, nothing came together for her until now, with this NHML win. I’m happy to finally get her drawn, and while I could’ve paired her with Phil or Hades, I decided to go the simple wholesome route and give her her Wonderboy instead.
With this post, NHML nominations for the month of August are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, Hercules. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. You may nominate by either commenting in the cBox, commenting on this post, or emailing me (Nearphotison2010@yahoo.com). I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on August 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month. I look forward to seeing who you all nominate this time around!

Normally I let the Subscribers fully handle ideas for new pages, but I had this image of the first two panels here in my head and wanted to do them. So I counted that as the first panel of the four allotted, and let the Subscribers handle the rest. Hope y’all enjoy the page!
This here’s the One-Shot for June 2024. As always, the script for this comic was submitted by a Subscriber. The theme here is Mark from Invincible hopping to other superhero universes for some fun. There’s an ulterior motive to this script, too, to get in some popular superhero characters I haven’t drawn before, especially in the first and third panels. This script has a few characters that have been popular for other artists to draw, but we’ll see if there’s interest in seeing them show up again after this.
