First Shoot

First Shoot #11 – Lin Beifong

Our eleventh First Shoot winner is Lin Beifong from The Legend of Korra. Legend of Korra has a number of hot older women, but Lin’s a real standout I’m happy to have on board. I don’t know if I’ll ever draw her with Toph, but when Mito ended up as her random partner I figured I could at least tease it, since Mito’s primarily done incest content herself in the Studio.

First Shoot #10 – Fa Mulan

Marking our tenth First Shoot is Fa Mulan, star of Disney’s Mulan. Mulan is a character I’ve always liked, and toyed with drawing for a long time. She’s one of several Disney “Princesses” I’ve been wanting to draw for some time, though her inclusion in this First Shoot poll was a bit of a last-minute decision. Here she is now, though, and her random lottery partner ended up being our first Fusion to appear in this series, Catrina (fusion of Catra and Selina Kyle). I ended up liking these two together quite a bit while drawing them, maybe they’ll become friends in the Studio.

First Shoot #9 – Power

Power was the third winner from this poll, tying with Rukia and Jeice. She’s become a real popular character since Chainsaw Man blew up, and I expect we’ll probably be seeing her around quite a bit. Her random partner, The Thing, was kind of a surprise, but I thought the idea of her not listening to him and insisting on calling him the Rock Devil would play well against his gruff personality.

First Shoot #8 – Rukia Kuchiki

Rukia is the second of three characters who tied in the last poll I did for this series. She’s also the first Bleach character I’ve drawn, I guess, so welcome aboard. While all of the partners for this series are random, Alice seemed like an especially random one to me, but when I was reminded of Rukia’s love of rabbits I got an idea for how to incorporate that into their interaction here.

First Shoot #7 – Jeice

We had another three way tie in the First Shoot polls, meaning the next two entries in this series will come from the same poll as this one. Jeice is the only member of the Ginyu Force I’ve ever had any interest in lewding, but I just kinda never got around to it so I threw him on this poll. Even though I picture Jeice as a bottom, his random partner is someone I see even more as a bottom so he ended up topping. O.D. is a character in Gatchaman Crowds, an alien who likes to strike poses randomly, so they’ve got a few things in common with Jeice (although, if I were to compare them to anyone in Dragon Ball, it’d be Whis). I’ve only drawn them once before, so it was nice to go back to them as I liked this show more than its presence in my art would imply.

First Shoot #6 – Erza Scarlet

Since there’d been some buzz for Fairy Tail ladies, I decided to include Erza in this First Shoot poll, and she ended up taking it. I never got into Fairy Tail, but as an outsider she seemed to be to be a fan favorite. I feel like most of the body pillows and figurines I saw for the show at cons were of her, so I hope people will enjoy seeing her here. In looking into her more, I realized she actually usually has her hair down, but I’ve always pictured her in a ponytail. I decided to have it both ways by letting her hair down in the second panel. I saw there was also info about her being interested in dirty magazines and the like according to the FT Wiki, so I figured she’d be all-in for joining the Studio. Misty was a fun surprise as her random first partner.

First Shoot #5 – Levi Ackerman

I included Levi in the most recent First Shoot poll just because he seemed kinda popular amongst AOT fans. I only barely know who he is, but I tried to capture my impression of his personality here. His partner, Pomeline, is a central character in DC’s Gotham Academy. I drew her a couple times back when I had an Epic (monthly commission) Tier on Patreon, for a supporter who really liked the series (though he mostly commissioned Olive and Maps).

First Shoot #4 – Peridot

Here’s the last of the three First Shoot debuts that tied in our second poll! Peridot was one I was personally rooting for, but didn’t expect to do well. Of the main five gems in Steven Universe, she’s the only one I’d never drawn, though not for a lack of trying. I actually drew Peridot with Lapis back when she first appeared in the series (during the period where Lapis was her prisoner). While I had that pic in my drafts, they revealed that her arms and legs had extensions on them and she was actually short, and that kinda made my pic feel dated so I dropped it. I tried drawing her with Lapis a few more times since then, but the pics just never came together for one reason or another. So here she is now, in all her glory, paired with Kai from The Legend of Korra. This is Kai’s first appearance in color, as I’ve only drawn him in an old lineart commission before now.

First Shoot #3 – Faye Valentine

Here’s the second of the three-way tie for our second First Shoot poll, Faye Valentine! Faye actually has a tag on my site already, due to some old color work, but since I watched Cowboy Bebop well before I started doing hentai I just never got around to finishing a pic with her (although I did have a couple incomplete pics back in the day). Faye’s random partner is Kintaro Oe, the protagonist of Golden Boy. I feel bad I never got back to the series of pics I had planned for him, but maybe some day. Even though it’s randomized, I kinda like this pairing as Faye would’ve felt right at home with the other ladies of Golden Boy, I think.

First Shoot #2 – Shuu Inuzuka

So, funny story, but the second First Shoot poll I ran ended in a three-way tie. I might could’ve run a second tie-breaker poll, but since I liked all three winners I decided to just draw each of them. Funnily enough, all three ended up with their random partners being 1 Club members, as well as straight pairings. So that’s weird, but here we are.
Shuu is the best friend of Izumi-kun in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie. Some of my Subscribers, even those who haven’t seen the show, have taken to him due to his resemblance to Bakugou. Even though I considered him a dark horse in the poll, this interest propelled him to the top, so here he is with BraveStarr’s Judge, J.B. McBride. I drew J.B. back in 2014 as part of the WWOEC Woman of the Month feature. She was actually a character I’d nominated for that event personally, because I love Filmation cartoons and BraveStarr was an outlier many people didn’t know. J.B.’s the romantic interest of the series, and I’d originally planned to draw more of her, but just never got around to it. She makes an interesting and odd crossover for Shuu, though, and I always like when we get non-sequiter pairings like this.
