So, one type of joke KonoSuba likes to do often is to set its protagonist, Kazuma, up in a stereotypical hentai/fantasy scenario, and then crash it in some way right before it gets good. This scene is one of those, where Kazuma ended up swapping bodies with the young princess of the land, Iris. While in her body, he managed to get into a scenario where he had both Darkness and Iris’s bodyguard, Claire, in a bath with him. Obviously they swapped back before anything happened, but the scenario ticked a lot of niche boxes for me that I won’t get into here. However, I wanted to do a little something with the scene, so I sketched it real quick the day I saw the episode and just not got around to wrapping it up. I hope some of y’all will enjoy it.

Utena Hiiragi Character Ask 1

Utena seems pretty particular about her BDSM tastes, to me. Within the show we even see her actively not enjoy a situation when the person on the other end didn’t fit her type. Darkness might be a bit too… into it for her? But I think they could find a good balance since Darkness is so resistant to admitting how much she likes being violated. Utena also would probably prefer playing with magical girls, while Darkness is more of a noble knight, but I wanted to pair these two at least once.

Darkness Character Ask 3

When I first read this question, I immediately pictured Darkness failing at being a Domme and getting berated for it, which would turn her on. I considered illustrating that scene for the answer, but I wasn’t really sure of the best way to convey it. The more I thought about it, though, the more in-character it felt to just have Darkness getting worked up over the idea of it, instead of actually trying to dominate another character herself.

I decided to go lighter with it, since I had Darkness all tied up in her last Ask, but I could see doing some heavier BDSM with these two at some point, potentially.

Darkness Character Ask 1

A big part of Darkness’ character is that she harbors fantasies of being defeated, captured and taken by force by some evil entity or monster. Her strong masochist streak is heavily suppressed, so she’d never admit it, but she longs to be violated and gets aroused at just the thought or suggestion of it. I decided to show her in such a state, but didn’t feel like showing anyone with her would really fit her answer. Since the only other time I drew her you couldn’t see much of her body, I figured this would be a good chance to rectify that and put her in a prone, on-display position.

Megumin Character Ask 1

So, I admit, I’m not really sure what the expected outcome of this Ask was. Hopefully the supporter who submitted this question wasn’t hoping to actually see the explosion, because I didn’t feel like drawing one. I thought it might be kinda funny to see the aftermath, though. Megumin loses all her mobility when she casts her spells, so Vegeta’s just kinda ragdolling her here. If you’re worried that this might be too dark, or you feel bad for Megumin, fret not. She knew full well what would happen when she exploded Vegeta’s face, and she chose to do it anyway. Her distress here is just an act.

Aqua Character Ask 1

I knew how I wanted to answer this one pretty quickly. A big part of Aqua’s character in KonoSuba is how, despite being a goddess, nobody sees her as one or treats her like one. Even in a city devoted to worshiping her, nobody recognizes her divinity. I don’t see any reason why that would change in the Near Hentai Studio, and I think it’d be a little weird to see her running a church to herself or something with a bunch of followers. However, I thought it’d be a good chance to illustrate a water-themed character still being innately drawn to her, the only question was who to use. I ended up settling on Nessa, someone who got to debut around the start of the year but hasn’t appeared in anything since then. Funnily enough, her one other appearance in my work also has her working alongside a KonoSuba character, though a different one.

December ’19 One-Shot

Here’s the One-Shot I did for December, selected from nominations sent in by my supporters. Of course the holidays referenced in this comic have now passed, but it was more timely for my supporters. ^_^; This one presented a couple of unique challenges. First, was that I have very little experience working with the Fairly OddParents style (I’ve drawn it before, but it’s been ages). I did my best to find a compromise between my more realistic approach I usually use and the uber-stylized designs of the original characters. Also, the last panel was left completely open to me (except the dialogue). I decided that, since the pic was presented as a message from the Studio versions of characters, I should use Siat Wildstar, who’s sort of the mascot of the Studio. Since her panel is all about looking forward to the new year, too, I decided to work in a “look forward” theme, with her training three new characters (or, in Kefla’s case, a combination of two characters already in the Studio). Darkness is the last of the main KonoSuba girls for me to bring in, and Nessa’s a popular new character I’ve gotten a few requests for. Seras in the first panel is also new, though she’s been nominated for NHML maybe a dozen times. It’s also fun to bring in Mrs. Claus from the comic I did with CCat for Christmas 2018, paired again with her favorite boys, Mace and Jackie.
