This was a pic I wanted to do a long time ago but never had time for. I had it on a list of pic ideas, and its time finally came up. Kitty is a spoiled brat and the daughter of Killer Moth, and in her first appearance she forces Robin to take her to a dance. This makes Starfire jealous, naturally. Kitty’s one of the only characters from Teen Titans that’s easy for me to see Starfire topping like this, so it was a fun change of pace from how I usually use her.
I’m sure most of you are aware that there’s a running gag in Pokémon where James will crossdress whenever Team Rocket is trying to trick Ash and his friends. It doesn’t happen every time, and sometimes Jessie will also crossdress or sometimes they’ll just both be women. Regardless, he has a number of iconic looks through this gag that I’ve never done anything with, and I thought it’d be fun to change that. I went with this gyaru look he uses early in the series when giving Ash, Misty and Brock tickets onto a cruise liner that drives the plot for a few episodes. Both James and Jessie looked great in this disguise, I think, and I wouldn’t mind doing something with them as a pair with this disguise at some point. Originally I had James with just an anon, but I was trying to think of a good partner who’d like this look. While I don’t remember Todo having a specific interest in gyarus, they don’t seem that far outside his tastes, and James as a woman is both on the taller side and has a big ass. So I went that route to make it more interesting.
While working on this, it occurred to me that James’s crossdressing is a bit reminiscent of Bugs Bunny. Hopefully y’all will know what I mean, but something about the way they both adopt characters and disguises the audience is meant to see through but other characters can’t has a similar vibe to me. I’ve been thinking of doing some sort of pic series inspired by this tenuous connection, but I can’t promise I will. Maybe something where they’re both using different iconic looks to bring in studs in the Studio, like a competition. I’d be interested to hear if anyone would like something like that.
It’s been a minute since I did a First Shoot, and I think it’s because I’ve kinda burned out on the concept. The last poll we did for this series resulted in another three-way tie, the first of which is Purah here. I think once I finish these three shoots I’ll take a bit of a break from this series.
Purah’s a character I like a lot, but was always hesitant to draw just because I figured her design would be a pain to work with. I was right, of course, but I’m happy to have done at least this much with her. Her partner here feels like she couldn’t be more random (which of course she is), but I think they make an oddly nice pair.
I realized recently that, while they have appeared together here and there, I haven’t drawn Goku and Chi-Chi directly interacting in quite a few years. I believe this Ask is referencing an older one Goku appeared in with Princess Snake, in which she claimed he enjoyed footjobs and he agreed. I thought it’d be fun to see him enjoying one from his wife, who’s kinda the one I picture teaching Goku everything he knows about sex.
Here’s the final page to this little comic. Everybody gets to finish on someone’s face. Some of you may remember that this comic was commissioned to help cover expenses following a personal disaster, but the commission I sold was for ten pages. This marks the end of the first half of that commission, and sometime down the road I’ll begin working on another five-page comic that makes up the second half.
In Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Yuta and Toge have a cute friendship, so it’s not at all surprising to me some folks would ship them. I don’t use the 0 designs for either of them by default, though, so even if I’d use them for a regular pic of these two I didn’t here. I honestly didn’t have any ideas for what to have Yuta say here, but I figured a good workaround would be to have them kissing instead.
This is the first pic in a new series I’m trying out called “Poll Me Closer.” To start I gave Subscribers a semi-random list of twenty Studio characters, and they voted for Gwen. This is the second time my Subs have voted for Gwen in something, so she must be popular.
This series is inspired by pic series I’ve seen on social media designed to drive engagement. I’m not really a social media guy, so I’m not doing it like that, but I like the dynamic and thought it’d be fun to try my own little spin on it. So Subscribers will get to vote on how this series goes down, step-by-step. I imagine it will update a little slowly, with me taking at week for the polls to run before even being able to start the next pic, so probably this first PMC will run into next year. I hope people will enjoy it, though, and Gwen seems to be game!
I don’t know if Thorfinn has much interaction with any strong women in Vinland Saga. From my limited time with the series, the only strong woman I’m aware of is his sister. So I don’t know if there’s much canonical basis to work off of here, but there was at least one strong woman in the Studio I thought might remind Thorfinn a bit of home.
I wasn’t planning to do a Valentine’s Day pic for February’s Subscriber Scenario, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to do this one. Not only does this bring in two minor JJK characters I’d like to have in the Studio but had no real plans for, but it also marks the first time I’ve drawn Nanami’s younger design. I kinda pictured this as a bit of a laid-back hangout, with Gojo, Geto and Shoko not needing as much ice-breaking as Nanami and Haibara.
This is a yuri anime about a girl who used to be a quiet nobody, but reinvented herself for high school to try and turn her life around and become popular. She got in with the popular girls at school, including the leader who’s an international model, and through circumstances ended up with them all crushing on her in one way or another. It hits a lot of the same contrivances as your average harem anime, but it has a strong cast and humor and won me over. Ajisai, the NHML winner, is the quiet member of the group, and she’s just the sweetest thing. The last arc of the anime’s first season focuses on her, and my heart broke for her at a couple points. She’s arguably the best ship with the MC, Renako, but she has a good relationship with the main LI (Mai) as well. They have that kinda love triangle/throuple energy that made me want to put all three of them together for this pic.
The text here is “muri muri,” which is what’s translated in the title as “there’s no freaking way.” Renako says it a lot, especially in the opening credits, but basically any time yuri stuff is happening to her.
