I watched Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! recently and really loved it. I’m a pretty big fan of the series director, Masaaki Yuasa, but for whatever reason this series passed by me when it came out. I’d been meaning to check it out for a while, and now that I have I find myself really loving the three main girls. Sayaka Kanamori, the tall one, is especially appealing to me, and I’m really hoping to draw a lot more of her down the road. I do like Asakusa and Tsubame a lot, too, and I know Tsubame has one big fan in my Subscribers, so hopefully there’ll be more of all three eventually.
The Near Hentai Monthly Lady for August 2024 is Bayonetta. I drew Bayonetta a handful of times back in 2020, but I don’t have a strong connection to these games so I haven’t done anything with her since. For this NHML pic I decided to stick with her Bayonetta 2 design, since that’s my favorite of her looks by a good measure, but decided to pair her with her best friend, Jeanne. What I have seen of these games makes me think I’d ship these two if I played them, and I figured this way we can still get some fresh blood into the Studio even if Bayonetta’s been around for a bit.
With this post, NHML nominations for the month of September are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, Bayonetta. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. You may nominate by either commenting in the cBox, commenting on this post, or emailing me (Nearphotison2010@yahoo.com). I’ll compile a list of the nominees in the sidebar of this site, and then on September 1st I will use a randomizer to select the winning character who I will proceed to draw sometime that month. I look forward to seeing who you all nominate this time around!
I didn’t watch much King of the Hill when it originally aired. I did check out an episode here and there, and while I do remember liking it well enough it wasn’t quite as flashy as The Simpsons or later Family Guy. The art style also wasn’t super appealing, and the fact that my mom liked it didn’t help it seem any cooler at the time. Recently, though, I’ve decided to revisit the series and have been watching it from the beginning. I like it quite a bit more now, and I feel like I probably wouldn’t have understood or appreciated a lot of its humor when I was younger. As I’m writing this I’m only in season three, so there’s a lot of show left where it could fall off, but right now it’s really strong and I’m having fun with it.
With the revisit has come me wanting to draw a bit more of the characters. I don’t expect there to be a huge explosion of King of the Hill art or anything, but I’d like to touch on a few characters at least. One character I wasn’t expecting to like as much as I have is Peggy. Peggy’s designed to be somewhat homely, but she’s far from ugly and her personality is way more charming than I remembered. She obviously has her flaws, and I’m under the impression she’s less likable in later seasons, but early on she’s incredibly charming and I wanted to take a moment to show her some appreciation. At first this was just a pin-up, but I decided to have a bit more fun here with a bit of dialogue and throwing in a small appearance from Hank.
