I haven’t seen Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie in a while, but I feel like she’d be fine sharing her boyfriend in the Studio. These two have a cute friendship in the anime, and we haven’t really seen Izumi since his debut. There’s actually a bit more Shikimori content planned that you might end up seeing come out in, like, a month.
I’ve been meaning to get back to Laid-Back Camp in MomSwap for a while now, and I’m happy to finally visit the Kagamiharas. I’ve drawn Nadeshiko and Sakura a few times before, but this is Shizuka’s debut. I think for a lot of ones like this, with more than one daughter, I’d just focus on whoever the “main” one is. In this case, though, Sakura’s a pretty important supporting character and has also been one of the flag bearers for LBC in the Studio. So, I figured she should be involved, too.
For Subscribers, this Ask went up on Easter. I’ll often avoid holiday-themed Asks since they go public so much later, but I feel this one won’t be too out of place even in July. I had an idea for how Chica might feel about this question immediately, but then I thought her being a chicken might also inform her opinion on the proliferation of egg imagery in Easter. I also just haven’t gotten to do much with Chica outside of her game content, so I thought seeing her again might be fun.
Like with the tenth magazine cover I wanted to do a pairing for the 20th, so I put the theme as parent/child pairings. There were a few good submissions, but I felt seeing these two together would be fun. This is the last magazine cover I’m gonna do for a while. I’ll probably come back to this series later, but I’m a bit burned out on coming up with themes for people to nominate for as well as new article teasers. In its place I have another series Subscribers can interact with for pin-ups that we’ll see the first entry of in about a month.
A long time ago I started a short series of pics based on Himiko Agari’s fantasy of being dominated by Komi in Komi Can’t Communicate. I got two pics in, but never got around to finishing it. I decided to fix that now, so here’s the third pic. There’s one more pic in this mini-series, which should come out before too long.
So this Ask focused on Cabba and Vegeta’s student/pupil dynamic, but I thought that King Vegeta might have some other thoughts he’d want to get off his chest. Cabba’s worked with Tarble in the past, so he knows him, but I imagine King Vegeta would have some complicated feelings about his other son now that he’s settled down in a different environment.
So a while ago I had an idea for another game-like SubscribeStar reward I called the Near Fate Roulette. The idea is that Subscribers at a certain tier could all submit two names, one Studio character and one character from outside the Studio. From the full list of all those names I’d then randomly select two characters and pair them up. This was a test-run of the concept and, while I’m happy with this pairing and this pic, I don’t really think it’s gonna work out. The biggest problem is just my already bloated schedule, as this pic took a couple months to get around to and I have no idea how long it’d take me to get to another one. Beyond that there were some other concerns voiced to me by other members that I think were valid, so probably this will be the only installment of this concept.
We were lucky to get one of each type of character for this pairing, though. Oliver’s one of my Applebridge OC’s who’s been in the Studio for a while. Pumyra comes to us from the 2011 version of ThunderCats, and the same Subscriber who props up Cheetara from that show nominated her after months of submitting her for NHML. I’m happy for him that she’s finally made it in, and I hope y’all will enjoy the pic.
