I think Satsuki might care a little bit more about her perceived popularity than she lets on here, since she went through the trouble of making sure she had a “fan” on hand when she could’ve just answered this solo. I’ve been wanting to do more with Satsuki for a minute, and I’ve got a good handful of sketches with her, but I just never seem to have the time to get to them. As for her partner here, Kaori’s another lady I wish I’d drawn more often, and I think she makes an interesting pair with Satsuki for this Ask.

Just a friendly reminder that this Ask was done before Makima was introduced to the Studio!

So, when I read this question I kind of had an idea of how Aki would see Denji’s choice. Hopefully his position is articulated well here, but basically I think he’d see it as kinda childish but respect his willingness to stick to it. Aki, on the other hand, has no such hang-ups, even though he also crushes on Makima in the series. I figured him showing just how much more open to “Studio life” he is would spice up his answer some. For his partner, I figured Momo would be as good as anyone, and is kinda a fresh pairing, I think.

Ersatzverse – Kokino and Mino

Working on Tsukinosagi’s Journey again got me wanting to do more Ersatzverse character designs. This is Kokino and Mino, a pair of adventurers who are also a couple. Kokino is the magic user, while Mino’s the swordswoman. I can’t say if they’ll show up in Tsukinosagi’s Journey, though, but right now I just like drawing the characters and want to keep to that without worrying about who will be relevant in the comic. Hopefully, after all, there’ll be other Ersatzverse content outside of that comic eventually.

They’re stuck in a bit of a limbo right now, where the next projects I had planned for them are stalled, and I can’t really move on to anything new with them in the interim. Regardless, I thought this Dare might be a fun chance to see them again, plus this is an Applebridge pairing I don’t think would ever come about naturally. I needed a relatively simple Ask for today for personal reasons, and I thought this one might elucidate some Studio Lore for some folks. Also this will probably be the only time I draw Adrien in his civilian look, one I’m personally much less interested in than his hero look, but maybe some people would wanna see. I think it makes sense for him to use the Cat Noir identity more as just fetish play, especially in his case where his super hero outfit is so close to just being fetish gear anyway.

Yoko is a character I kept meaning to include in First Shoot polls, but kept forgetting about her. Before I really came up in the hentai world, she was a big figure in the community, even being the mascot for some R34 sites, iirc. I’ve never drawn any of Gurren Lagann, though, even though there’s a handful of good characters I remember from that series. For Yoko’s First Shoot she happened to get Kazuki, creating an amusing parallel between her and Yor, who got Toi in her’s.
