I always figured whenever Jiji made it to the Studio, one of the first people I’d want to cross him over with would be Yuji. I’m far from the first to notice the parallels between them, to the point I wouldn’t be shocked if Dandadan’s writer some day said Jiji was directly inspired by Yuji. At any rate I thought this Ask would be a fun way to do something with them.
So we’ve seen Corey and Yuji partner up a few times now. Like he says here, though, Yuji’s kinda the exact opposite of Corey’s usual type, so if he ever did fuck him it’d be purely bred from their friendship over what usually motivates him.
This is a Master Mini Commission, the last one done for 2025. This one simply wanted to see Eren, Yuji and Denji shoot together, so here that is. I was a little unsatisfied with the view of my initial sketch, so I added a quick undercarriage view so y’all can see the action a bit better.
I feel like the Studio Tour series has really fallen off my radar in recent times, and I’d like to hopefully change that. I think it’s a great avenue for exploring random pairings I’m interested in, or introducing new elements to the Studio lore.
This is a pic I’ve had sitting on the back burner for ages, and finally got around to it. A while back I had Loid reference in an Ask that Yuji wanted to introduce him to a friend, and this was the pic I was thinking of when I did that Ask. It’s nice to finally get it out here, and we’ll see if I can get around to other pics in this series some time.
Taking the yaoi slot in our four rotating monthly ongoing comics is “Shades of Envy.” The premise of this comic is to use Envy’s shapeshifting to give Ed and Al a bit of a wild ride, set in the Studio so they can have more of a fun dynamic (and more people Envy can turn into, as seen here). There were a few different ways people submitted for this to start, including multiple where Envy became Yuji. In the end I liked this approach as it gave me a chance to show base-form Envy a little, and I tried to give him some good angles before the transformation starts.
This is the fourth and penultimate page of Hot Yoga. Not sure yet when we’ll wrap this one, but for now here’s the bulk of this comic’s action.
So twice now Corey and Yuji have hung out “Corey’s way.” Corey’s capable of being a fair guy, so even if it’s not his thing really he’s willing to give Yuji’s way a chance here.
So Corey and Loren don’t really have much in common. Even within the Applebridge canon they’re removed by the tax brackets of their parents, plus Corey’s like three or four years older than Loren. Still, I thought there could be some fun in highlighting how different they are, especially since Corey recently made acquaintances with someone who’s way more Loren’s type. As for Corey’s partner here, I couldn’t think of anyone tied to Loren who would fit (unfortunately Loren doesn’t have a grandma or anything who’s been introduced), so I instead partnered him with someone I’ve meant to pair him with for a while but never had a good chance to.
This is a Lord Tier commission featuring three of this Lord Tier Subscriber’s favorite characters in the Studio. The idea here was pretty simple, with Yuji and Inosuke catching Ed with a pincer maneuver. They wanted to keep this one relatively tame, focusing on the tension and build-up rather than the down-and-dirty action I typically draw.
So this Scenario is building off of a previous one, featuring Corey’s parents and Nanami. I couldn’t really picture Yuji and Corey interacting the same way Nanami and Max did, however I could picture this. Corey and Yuji have different tastes (although I think Yuji’d be more open to Corey’s type than the inverse) but I thought it’d be cute to pair them with a couple Studio ladies who are connected but pair up well with them. I think this turned out to be a pretty cute little interaction, and I hope y’all will enjoy it.
