I hope nobody had their hopes up for several pages of intense basketball action. Instead, we’re skipping the action to get right to the action. I don’t think Maki’s going to put up with this from Yoinks for long, though, so expect things to slow back down a bit in the next page.
This Ask is worded a little confusingly, but I think I got it. When I think about the type of guy who James would most go for, I see him as someone with a bit of a daddy complex. So I ran with that here.
The relationship between Mai and Maki, and furthermore Nobara’s relationship with each sister, is complicated and I won’t get into it here. However, with Mai debuting as an anon one of Nobara’s scenes, I think at least these two are on the right path to working things out in the Studio.
So this is an idea I had a while ago, but never did anything with. I couldn’t tell you where it started, but the image of Maki and Yoinks playing some one-on-one just felt kinda right to me. I didn’t have anywhere to use the concept, really, but after doing Closing Time I decided to try and make this work following the approach I did for that comic. This page is a little more complex than any I did for Closing Time, and it won’t be the way the rest of the comic looks, but I wanted to get some stuff out of the way so the rest of the pages can be focused on the action.
I didn’t have a strong idea for this question specifically until I realized I could play into it fitting with Toji’s being unimpressed with Studio culture. Not much to say here but I hope people enjoy the “rematch.”
And this wraps up our little experiment. I think this approach to comics does work pretty well in allowing me to get pages out relatively quickly without interrupting other projects. However, it is a bit limited in the types of pairings I can do with it, I think. Nonetheless I will probably try other comics like this in the future. I have another in the works right now, which ironically enough involves a different Jujutsu Kaisen character, but for now I hope y’all enjoyed Closing Time as much as Tiana did.
This one’s pretty simple, but I thought it’d be nice to see a little one-on-one action between Yuko and her crush Yuji.
With the first Ask of this block I mentioned the Subscriber was looking for a different pairing, and this was it. While I couldn’t really justify doing anything with Nobara and Power for that Ask, a Dare is different. I had a bit of an idea for how they might banter, and thought it’d be fun to see play out.
So the idea for this Ask is mostly focusing on how differently Goku approaches the concept compared to Vegeta. I also took advantage of the situation to pair Goku up with another protag he hadn’t been with yet.
This is the penultimate page for this comic. While it ended up ballooning a bit from my original intention due to the number of sketches I had that I liked, I do think it’s been a fun ride so far. I hope y’all are enjoying it and will look forward to the final page in the near future.
