So I had this answer in mind pretty quickly on reading the question. When it came to finding a good villainous partner for him, though, I realized I haven’t done much with superhero-coded villains, and my options were limited. I did come up with a workaround, but I ended up going this route instead ’cause I haven’t used Venom in forever and I thought it’d be a fun pairing.
This here’s the One-Shot for June 2024. As always, the script for this comic was submitted by a Subscriber. The theme here is Mark from Invincible hopping to other superhero universes for some fun. There’s an ulterior motive to this script, too, to get in some popular superhero characters I haven’t drawn before, especially in the first and third panels. This script has a few characters that have been popular for other artists to draw, but we’ll see if there’s interest in seeing them show up again after this.
I’d been getting Asks for Tadashi for a little while, but I was putting them off because I already knew he’d won the raffle to be in Tauro’s First Shoot and I wanted his big return to be there. Now that I’ve finally gotten that First Shoot out of the way, I figured I’d do one of the Asks I’ve gotten in for him, and this one seemed simple but kind of fun. I wasn’t sure exactly who to put on the other end of the dildo here, but rather than crop it to be an anon butt I just went with Mako since I figure people who are into Tadashi would probably also like him.
The third and final winner from our last First Shoot poll is Tauro, the enthusiastic archeologist from Tears of the Kingdom. He’s a fairly minor character in the game, but he’s got a good look and I figured some of my followers would be interested in seeing him in action. I was reminded while working on this why I don’t tend to do much stuff with the modern Zelda characters, though, as his design is very busy and it was frustrating keeping track of his little accessories and whatnot. At any rate, he pulled Tadashi from Big Hero 6 for his partner, who we haven’t seen in a while. So that’s fun.
Some of you may remember Evan King, an original character from my Spookyverse. His gimmick is that he’s a would-be monster hunter who, despite his best efforts, always ends up failing to take down the monsters he hunts and instead gets toyed with by them in some fashion. The idea behind this One-Shot script was to have him meet that fate with a bunch of “monster” type characters this Subscriber is into. Some of them are pretty obscure, and it wasn’t easy getting reference material for everyone, but here they are. The first panel is Surge from the Sonic comics, who I’ve drawn before and is probably the most mainstream character here. The second panel features Ms. White from a little webcomic called Pixa Chats, who’s actually appeared with Evan before in a commission this Subscriber did with a different artist. Appearing beside her is Scream, one of the many Symbiote characters from Marvel comics, who this Subscriber has nominated for NHML multiple times in the past. The third panel is a character I think is just called Minotaur, from a manga called “King of the Labyrinth”. I read a bit of it to prep for this comic, and did not care for it, but the Minotaur’s design is alright. The last panel features Amber from Space Leaper: Cocoon and Dinah from Unicorn Overlord, a couple of games I’ve never heard of and know nothing about.
Power was the third winner from this poll, tying with Rukia and Jeice. She’s become a real popular character since Chainsaw Man blew up, and I expect we’ll probably be seeing her around quite a bit. Her random partner, The Thing, was kind of a surprise, but I thought the idea of her not listening to him and insisting on calling him the Rock Devil would play well against his gruff personality.
So the Near Hentai Monthly Lady for March 2020 is the “Spider-Loli” Peni Parker, the anime-esque Spider-Girl from an alternate reality/timeline to the one we usually follow. I figure most people know her from “Into the Spider-Verse”, and while she’s not my favorite girl from that movie it was fun to draw her here. I paired her with Miles Morales, to give our boy some love.
With this post, NHML nominations for the month of April are now open. For those who don’t know, I’ll run down the rules real quick. Nominations are limited to one per person. You can nominate any female character you want, provided I have not drawn her within the past calendar year (though I prefer characters I’ve never drawn, period). Previous NHML winners are not eligible for a second time. Nominees must also not be from the same franchise as this month’s winner, which is really just all of Marvel. If you violate any of those rules, I’ll let you know, and you can nominate someone else. I know it can be hard to keep track of these things. I got an itch out of nowhere to work with Aunt Cass again… I’m really fond of her design, so it’s not too surprising, but I couldn’t tell you what sparked the urge. Regardless, I had some sketches of her lying around, so I dusted off this footjob one (since people are always asking me to do more footjob pics than I typically do) and decided to ink/color it. I wanted some sort of dialogue in there, though I can’t say if I’m happy with this dialogue… I do kinda like the idea of Cass being a bit self-conscious about her age, even though she’s not really old or anything, just ’cause it kinda sounds like something she’d worry about when being sexual with her young nephew. Anyway, hope you all like the pic, no idea when I’ll get around to visiting Aunt Cass again.
This here is a Master-level commission. This client wanted to see a crossover between the protagonists of Coco and Big Hero 6, and here we are. This project got delayed a bit due to a lost email (and my failure to follow-up), but we finally were able to come together and get it done. I’ve drawn Hiro a few times before, but this is Miguel’s first time showing up in my work. Who can say if it’ll be his last.
Okay, so I couldn’t help taking a moment to poke a little fun at a simple typo. ^_^ But yeah, I think we could do some gothic fun time somewhere down the line, but let’s wait until I can squeeze it into a full pic. Rogue’s still getting used to her surroundings here in the studio, after all, but once we get her powers neutralized I’m sure she’ll be up for lots of fun.
